Hey fellas.
Been quite a long time. Life has pulled me away from the scene. My rift s will be arriving in a few days.
I already have a very nice new retro arcade neon setup for my mame collection with an xarcade tankstick. I’d like to check out vp in vr and possibly build a pin stubby type controller for it. But am clueless how to even get vp working in vr. So if there is an idiots guide could someone kindly point me in the right direction.
All help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome back!
VPVR is a bit more difficult to get setup for sure… but once its “there” it’s mostly good. I will warn you it can be finicky at times. Guys like senseless are good resources.
Tables like TOTAN look amazing in it.
Future Pinball BAM – Open VR is MUCH easier to get up and running for the simple reason that it already runs natively in OpenGL and is already completely a 3D environment, etc.
All FP tables work in VR….no hacks…or missing elements. Everything is there and works.
The newest version of BAM OpenVR is required…but its pretty easy to get going and dialed in. Once setup correctly with some nice transparent AA,etc… FP tables look stunning in VR…especially with updated modern BAM lighting and rendering!
If interested, you can start at my FP guide here to get FP properly setup for “today’s standard” and with BAM (which has completely changed FP and is now a requirement for many newer tables).
https://vpinball.com/forums/topic/how-future-pinball-should-be-setup-for-bam-doflinx-and-pinball-x/
I do need to do a more FP VR specific guide with full details, as proper setup of FP / BAM / GPU drivers makes a HUGE difference.
I have been completely updating my cabinet…. and it’s very cool to throw on my new Rift S and be able to see all the Popper screens in Oculus VR Desktop, and then be able to launch FP BAM VR tables from VR directly using Popper. Very cool when combined with my cabinet’s DOF and SSF.
I haven’t setup VPVR to launch from a front-end yet.

Sure can…any COM object can be used now (if the iCOM BAM plug-in is installed and enabled). It’s just a matter of someone taking the time to setup a table to try it out, etc.
