Yeah I’d be hard pressed to tell the difference between the 8K pic and a pic of the real table. Unreal Bord, well done!

January 2, 2020 at 7:26 pm #156696Fired this project back up over New Years. Rendered elements are starting to get moved over to VP. First all outer walls, posts, switches and plywood holes.

January 2, 2020 at 9:21 pm #156706!! FT needs a WIP! So, I’m seeing a spinny thing on this BG? With various barnyard noises? This is fun stuff.

January 3, 2020 at 3:55 am #156759Awesome, Bord. Looking forward so much. This is one of two pins I‘ve owned in real life. Long time ago I‘ve sold it to a friend of my girlfriend (now my wife ?). No idea what happened to it (the pinball, not my wife ?).

January 3, 2020 at 6:17 pm #156854Lovely job. Has to be one of the easiest games in Bally history. Have a question though, is there a setting in vpx that has multiple lighting conditions. Lost world has some of the most gorgeous artwork ever, it’s kind of a shame to darken it up and lose the detail. Paul Ferris is god.

January 4, 2020 at 10:35 am #156927Hi @shiva – you can turn up the environment lighting and allow more vp light by changing the “disable lighting” settings on the playfield. It will have some baked light and reflections on the playfield, though. I’ve been rendering pf lighting lately both for the look of it and also to optimize things – take vp off the hook for reflections on anything that doesn’t actively move.
If that isn’t to a person’s taste I always have the original art, a nice high-resolution scan, and am happy to pass it on.

January 4, 2020 at 4:02 pm #157001Great thanks. Don’t know anything about vpx, but should have known that at least. Lighting a table is very subjective, we all like different settings, this is just personal preference on lighting on my part, I like vivid colors and a “dusk” setting. In my arcade days, the places were always quite lit, and I’m getting old and have problems with tracking the ball now if the table is too dark.

January 5, 2020 at 6:11 pm #157177Visuals and gameplay are done. I need to script some lighting state changes and make sure audio sounds ok without DOF on. Getting close.
