Hey folks! I’ve been drooling over the new Asus xg438q since I saw the demo. I’m probably gonna bite the bullet because the 120hz refresh sounds great. I have a couple questions to those that know more about this stuff. I see the 43″ samsung qn43q60rafxza and qn43ls03raFxza qled is advertising 240hz and possibly cheaper as well. Will vpx recognize a tv with 240hz? I’m guessing it will but again I’m not the expert. I’m also not clear about the av panel versus ips panel. What should I be using ideally? Which of these is the better scenario? I use a 43 samsung 4k now so they would likely drop right in place but that new Asus monitor seems to he pretty badass. Any insight would be much appreciated!

It looks like the Samsung does not do 120hz @4k, and definitely not in the 43″ size per https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q60-q60r-qled although it does get great ratings from rtings.  unfortunately they do not yet have a rating for the Asus.

That being said, that Asus is the monitor I’ve been waiting for.  True 4k 120Hz flat screen, perfect for a VP cab.. well except for the $1100 price tag, ouch.  And I’d only have to rebuild the cab a little to fit it in. :(

Well that’s pretty straightforward then! I missed that part. I’m dying to know when the asus 43″ gonna be released here. It’s already out overseas. I cant find any info on the drop date.

I’m waiting for the Acer Predator CG437k.  It was announced to be out in September but I’m not counting on that as there hasn’t been any news in a while.  Though it is nice to see some large high refresh rate 4k monitors coming out.</span>
