You Have the POWER!!! Â with my MASTERED Edition update to “Rom’s” excellent “Masters of the Universe” Future Pinball table. I’ve also created an “all-new” DOFLinx cabinet mod as well. This table mod is inspired by SLAMT1LT’s tables as well as the newer pinball machines (from JJP, Stern, Heighway Pinball) that now use monitors instead of DMDs.
A video demonstration that shows off all the features of the MASTERED Edition as well as the DOFLinx mod can be seen here:
MASTERED Edition:
– new backglass with various fanart. Formatted specifically to work with 16:9, and 4:3 screens.
– new full motion video sequences for almost all table actions and modes. These are NEW hi-resolution video clips that now appear on the backglass (and display HUD for desktop users)
– new info display shown on backglass
– new sound clips
Watch Prince Adam dance to the beat (and the animated matching flashers) of Castle Multi-Ball!
Experience the woosh of blower-fan air from Ripper Multi-Ball.
FEEL the POWER (and shaker motor) when you become HE-MAN and see your power emanate from the flashers.
FEAR Skeletor as he launches his devastating 9-Ball Multi-Ball and watch him laugh at you on the backglass.
Go beyond the days of DMDs and see full hi resolution videos and info displays on the new animated backglass.
Don’t be a cheap skate, or Skeletor will get angry!
With 1000’s of images, and new sounds…this makes for a MOTU experience like no other, and a Pinball experience found nowhere else!
DOFLinx Cabinet Edition:
-10 solenoid feedback for flippers, bumpers, slings, kickers, etc
-gear motor for Castle Grayskull, Ripper, and He-Man
-shaker motor feedback to feel the power and action
-blower fan feedback for Ripper ramp
-5 RGB flasher animated effects
-RGB under cabinet lighting
-beacon and strobe effects
-coin, start, and launch button leds

June 16, 2017 at 6:40 pm #57314Even if you don’t play Future Pinball, I’d really like your opinion on the table mod. You can see pretty much all of it in the video.
The combination of the videos, lighting and feedback (all synced to match) really raises this great table to a new level.
This table wound up being about 138 MB. The biggest FP table I have seen, I believe. I originally had it running at over 200 MB, but this caused some issues with DOFLinx and may have crashed for some people. I think I was was pushing beyond FP’s intended limits, since FP loads ALL video sequences to RAM, and doesn’t play them off a hard drive. As a result I had to remove the entire “Adam” intro the you see at the beginning of each episode.
I had to fetch all the videos myself, convert them to 20 fps, then convert them to images in a sequence. Then import all those images into FP, and create ImageLists of every table action and mode, etc.. Â Then create Overlays which show the videos and text for each multiball mode, Â and another Overlay for all other actions. Then created sub routines for each video / action and had to sync up their timing to match (some videos didn’t need as many fps, etc)
It was alot of work!
All the new video code and DOFLinx code is contained in their own sections which makes for a much cleaner look, and makes it easy to modify / update in the future.

June 17, 2017 at 4:09 am #57336Wow Terry amazing!
I already liked this original FP-table: Plain fun with this amazing mega multiball machine (nice alliteration ).
With your animations and DOFLinx-effects it makes the Arcade-thrill complete. Volume way up and just enjoy!
Thanks for your hard work. This version will definitely end up in my cabinet!

Download the desktop version from vpforums, or pinsimdb (when its eventually approved on there) if you want the normal desktop version without DOFLinx.

June 17, 2017 at 7:32 pm #57368Any idea how I can get the table to load, it crashes at around 80% loading and I need to kill FP, all other tables from you work just fine with DOFLinx.

Make sure you don’t have “Load Images into Editor” enabled in the editor options. I you have that enabled, then the table won’t be able to load and will give you errors, etc…. Â This is common for FP, and you should always have it unchecked.
How much RAM,etc do you have? This table is much larger than the original version, and may require more ram. I run mine on an i5 8GB ram, win 10, GTX 960 2GB,etc…
I just tested it on the original non modified FP.exe (and all other versions), and it loads fine for me, no crashes…. but if “Load Images into Editor” is enabled…then it will crash.

June 17, 2017 at 8:10 pm #57371I’m going to load it back up and check the LOAD IMAGES into EDITOR option. I have 12 gigs of system ram, Video gard is a Zotax GTX 970 3GB ram.

If you setup your lightbar with DOF…and install and setup DOFLinx…then yes you would use the DOFLinx version to get DOF feedback and lighting from the table.

July 12, 2019 at 3:55 pm #136264Those values you are referring to has only to do with the table samples. The music is not controlled by them. Don’t remember if the music is external mp3 or not. If so, they one way to change them is to run them through audacity.
