Moving server for VPINBALL from California to Washington D.C. This is not a simple thing to do but it will be new IP for server and a new location. Huge pain in the ass but i think its fastest way to change routes and could fix my problem but perhaps make Roths speeds bad? LOL
will take a day(24hours or longer) just to copy all files to new server so wont happen for a day at least
This issue is a network route issue but i have no control over such network issues so moving server is only thing i can do.
YES taking this to extreme but that is what i do everyday at work if its broke i will try everything to fix it

January 13, 2020 at 7:07 pm #158513Jesus Randr… if this is causing increase in costs, whether or not you can cover it, would be a good opportunity for those of us to chip who can afford it to contribute some $$$. This doesn’t need to be your burden alone good sir.
As usual, everything you do (outside of MOPAR pinball table which I think I’m the only one who loves it) is appreciated by all of us.

January 13, 2020 at 8:44 pm #158527Thanks again for your oversight/perseverance!  cripes..I just learned if you right click on a misspelled word corrections pop-up! Always learning something new around here! And yeah, I d-loaded Tom’s table in 14.5 seconds today, and re-d-loaded bord’s in 45. So I’m probably boned by any change ;) Sure hope this change helps and is worth the time and effort.. Thanks again @randr

January 14, 2020 at 1:37 am #158560@randr, with all that construction you doing at the house, you should just install a server in your bathroom.  That’s always a good choice.  And as for moving it from Cali, no wonder it wasn’t working, no one out there works, it probably cost four times as much to have and it’s a sanctuary server so you can’t touch it.  Besides, why DC, it may get wet and rust in the swamp

January 16, 2020 at 7:35 am #158759Thanks randr for this website and your commitment to serving our passion. No need to apologize. I appreciate your dedication to excellence, it shows. Hmmm, DC huh? The cloud farms in Reston? Could speed up this Virginia boy’s download and upload times.

January 29, 2020 at 6:40 am #161239After seeing better download-rates in the last days (300-400 KB/s), today it is terrible.
Download a VR-table (Genesis) takes nearly 2 hours (20-30 KB/s).
I also try to download with my mobile connection. That doesn’t work. Download stops after a few minutes.

January 29, 2020 at 9:14 am #161254Thanks. Just FYI I never moved the server as speeds were fine just as I was about to move it. If this continues I will have to move it but for now I will wait and see if it gets fixed. Again nothing site related is causing this slowness it is a route issue and is out of my control
