This is a mod to hmueck’s excellent NBA Fastbreak VPX table.  This mod is designed to greatly improve the functionality of the game. NOTE: Fast flips currently do not work with this game as they will cause issues with some of the features you will encounter later in the game.

 

-Fully functional shot clock (thanks to DJRobX)

-Improvements to “In the Paint” mode: smoother passes, fixed shot 3, working magnet

-Backglass game has been moved to the backglass for desktop users. Cabinet users can continue to use the animated backglass.

-Fixed ball launch issue where ball(s) don’t always reach the table

-Various small graphical touch ups.

@stat – oh, I’ve had several mid-nights that have come naturally in front of the cab. Each time, except once I’ve been like … WTF !!! The most surprising I think was CCC

I might do a small update at some point.   I redid the cabinet walls to look more like the real machine.  The NBA Jam On Fire Edition logo in the back was obviously too new to be on the original art so I looked into it and figured out it was the NBA.com logo from 1997.  Sure enough with the internet wayback machine I was able to get that same logo they used the site back then.  I replaced the side walls with just dark wood and threw some metal rails on top.  I’ll leave the other image with the crowd in the image manager and may make it optional in the script.  I change the flippers to STAT’s settings.  We’ll see if anything else comes up.

Does anyone know why the ball has that glow? The same thing happens to me in the Robo-War pinball (which I love), however much I change the image of the ball, it always looks like the full moon. I do not understand why this happens.

Hi Darth,

Thanks for updating one of my favourite tables.

Not sure whether it’s my playing, but everytime I try to hit shot 2 from the kicker at the back of the table the shot is blocked even though the defender isn’t in the way. It then kicks to the shot 3 kicker which then releases the ball back to the table.
