I want to build a mini budget: pf, cab, buttons and pc. in future think I’ll add a backglass. I m looking for any help: shops in europe or in italy where find
right stuff, suggestion for software new installation (a new version of vpx is avaible, so I need to start from….. finding a new\used pc to reinstall everything from the beginning ); will add a frontend, tried pinballx , is it the best? how many buttons are min for control?
Finally I have a 21.5″ 1080 monitor for playfield, now I can design shape and inclination, I ll start with cardbox to take a look before choosing, also have an old 2.1 stero for pc, but the sub is a bit big …mmm need to take mesaure …

January 25, 2021 at 11:25 am #220910You are doing things the right way. Play, experiment, evaluate and judge on final budget. No-one can really tell you how to build the easiest way for a mini. As long as you don’t go by standard sizes, you will have to be inventive. Just know that standard US thickness of the plywood actually matters too when you buy eg. flipper buttons or other “standard” sized parts.

January 26, 2021 at 11:07 am #221183thanks for advice! Do you know of italian shop, or european, for buttons ?
My biggest problems are wirig and connect all the electric and electronic parts cause: lenguage translation, particulary in video tutorials, and for my dumb head so If some italians are reading please speak!
If nothing changed, also need an I-PAC, wiring and other electric comps. Is wielding needed or screwdriver is enough?
First wip update: naked monitor is 29.5 X 50.5 cm

I always recommend people to read MJR’s guides about this hobby. http://mjrnet.org/pinscape/ – I know, yes, it is English. But, you don’t need to read it all in one night. Find the subject you wonder about, consider what he says, will it fit. Use Google translate. I bought several of my parts from the US and Canada. I’ve also bought parts from the Nederlands. Pinscape can be built by yourself, or you can buy it pre made. You have several other that have created kits, Zebs’ pr. example. but, of course, these are more expensive than building it on your own.
What I recommend though, is that you spend time on the subject. It is much better to spend time looking around at what other people have done before you. I’m quite happy with my “machine”, but, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t have built it differently today. Things like adding real pinball parts into the mix instead of car starters is one of them. The thing I’m most happy about from the DOF side of things is a real DE knocker. Unfortunately, I’m still too lazy to fix it. Mostly because SSF rocks. Yes, many things to consider and that is why you should not rush it.

February 7, 2021 at 1:40 pm #222843Project is in progress… may I ask for a guide to components and wiring or a scheme to connect buttons? Lately I only found people talking about kl25z while some times ago I was reading of I-PAC: kl25z seems more difficult to use due to soldering, but support plunger. I don’t need plunger, will use launch button only, so I better go with I-PAC?
