New to VPX, been using it on my desktop for a couple months now. Have a dual screen setup which works well for the backglasses. I’ve ran into a few kinks here and there, but for the most part I’ve been able to figure things out thanks to this forum.
One problem I’ve ran into lately is regarding a specific table – cyberprez’s Haunted House. (https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/haunted-house-gottlieb-1982/)
The table runs great, however the metal rails underneath the flippers are invisible. The ball still bounces off of them but I can’t see them. Here is an example of what it looks like on my screen. (https://imgur.com/4f1GKmL) In VPX I can see the rails exist in the file as “pRails1”. I found a video on youtube of someone playing it and it seems they have the same problem as me! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6Hhtl8x0EU&t=)
In the photos from the original link it shows the table with visible rails and no pixelation around the bottom right flipper post.
Can anyone confirm that this table has invisible rails below the flippers/is there a way to fix this?

Seems ok to me.

February 22, 2020 at 5:45 am #164352That POV is jacked. Did you mess with the Z-Axis? I’d say reinstall or check your POV. Even your flippers up top are donged up.

February 22, 2020 at 1:25 pm #164422You’re onto something, the table looks normal when I am in the camera/light/material edit mode. I reinstalled the table and made sure all the values are default, however once I exit the camera/light/material edit mode it goes back to looking jacked. Tried changing some of the FOV and Z-Axis settings and saving but it still looks jacked unless I am in the camera/light/material edit mode.

February 22, 2020 at 1:59 pm #164432Getting somewhere! I realized that I have a similar issue on other tables where there are a lot of jagged edges, or certain gates will be invisible. Here is what JP’s roller coaster tycoon looks like when I try to play it (https://imgur.com/P7gMdIB). If I go into the camera/light/material edit mode, this problem goes away for all of my tables. Here is what Roller Coaster Tycoon looks like while in the mode. (https://imgur.com/a/GeCIrgc) Just not sure what to check next.

February 22, 2020 at 7:39 pm #164457Update!
Figured it out. I needed to turn on “Alternative Depth Buffer processing” in the VP video options. Apparently it’s an issue with my AMD graphics card (rx570). It was causing all sorts of jaggies and messed up ramps. All my tables look great now.
