As you guys know if a download is over 15mb you get 10 digit number infront of the file name and thats due to me bypassing PHP and serving the download straight to you from the server and there is no way around the addition of 10 digit prefix if i bypass PHP.
So… everyone willing to test a new setting?
I can make it so we only bypass PHP on files larger then lets say 200mb? 150mb? then we would preserve filename on zip but need testing and reports on how downloads perform. Heck maybe they would be better? no idea without testing it! This may also fix bug in chrome?
So adding a poll

April 27, 2019 at 7:50 am #125775Well not much feedback so i changed the bypass from 15mb to 100mb and hope someone can test a file thats larger then 15mb but under 100mb and see if they get .zip without 10 digit prefix. if it causes no issues i will bump it up to 200mb

April 27, 2019 at 8:11 am #125778I downloaded Wipe Out and Boomerang just now and there was no number before the file name (both 57mb). They downloaded smoothly on Chrome and so fast that I couldn’t navigate from one to another to try to get two downloads going at one time. This was on my Macbook which for some reason downloads about twice as fast as my cab which has and equally strong WiFi signal and has a more powerful processor.

April 27, 2019 at 8:20 am #125779Great! So if this causes no issues and I get some more feedback I’ll try to bump it up another 100mb!

April 27, 2019 at 8:34 am #125782I just tried the same downloads on my cab and there were no leading digits but the download was much slower (as expected). I started with Wipe Out and the site wouldn’t load the Boomerang page until Wipe Out finished its download which was what I was getting before your changes as well.

April 27, 2019 at 8:41 am #125783Correct. So it seems the php bypass is not the issue with chrome. Can you try edge browser on the cab?

April 27, 2019 at 8:55 am #125784WipeOut downloaded with Edge shows no padded numbers in front. About the same download time as Chrome but Edge was much slower in trying to navigate back to the downloads page from the WipeOut page.

April 27, 2019 at 11:24 am #125800IMO that is a bad change. Those numers makes perfect sense if a version is upated with the same filename. The higher numbered one is the latest. Please don’t break this.

April 27, 2019 at 11:28 am #125801Cleared all and still can’t download more than one table at a time in Chrome. It won’t let you navigate out of the page for the title that is being downloaded until the download finishes.

April 27, 2019 at 11:37 am #125803The filename mangling has always been around, and never bothered me! even though it makes a real mess on my uploaded file names. Filename convention is different for everyone, uploaded as well as leecher!

April 27, 2019 at 12:41 pm #125813I really don’t care if the numbers are there or not, what I care about is not being able to download more than one file at a time. This is not a big deal until Looserman76 releases another 30+ tables.
