There’s no need to update it. Links are the same

November 5, 2016 at 10:20 am #40357Hi ninuzzu,
I may be asking the same question as Clark, but I’m still confused. The only full offline installer I can find is Version 1.1 on this site, which appears to have been most recently updated last June 21. When I tried to reinstall that over my existing (broken) P-ROC install, it failed after “Extracting MinGW”. Copying in the files from https://github.com/CarnyPriest/CCCforVP didn’t help. I tried also uninstalling everything without success. I had no trouble installing P-ROC on a borrowed laptop, so it would seem that I’m properly understanding the installation instructions. I’m just sick about losing this wonderful table.

November 5, 2016 at 10:51 am #40359I just clicked the link, chose to download all as zip, unzipped, copied everything overtop what was in the C:\P-ROC\games\cactuscanyon folder, deleted the file game.pyc, and then played a game.  Played perfect as far as I could tell.  No errors and balls a plenty.  Game is fantastic Ninuzzu and all who helped bring it to VP!

November 5, 2016 at 10:54 am #40360Yeah it’s “offline” as far as proc install you still need to have connection for game files or download them manually maybe that’s where you issue is?

November 5, 2016 at 1:13 pm #40365Hi ninuzzu,
I see that earlier in this thread you asked someone else whose P-ROC installation was failing after “Extracting MinGW” to post his yaml-install.bat log. If it’s any help, here’s mine:

November 5, 2016 at 2:21 pm #40367Run Step 3 of the PROC installer and see if PROC is still working
@clark
Since PROC is already installed. you have to simply download the new code.
The new code is like a new rom, all you have to do is replace the files in
C:\P-ROC\games\cactuscanyon
with the new ones.
Next you delete the game.pyc from the same folder, set the dmd and done.
A fresh PROC installation will also download the updated files because links are the same.

November 5, 2016 at 3:21 pm #40369Hi ninuzzu,
Thanks again for trying to help me solve my P-ROC issue. I tried running Step 3, which indicated P-ROC wasn’t working. Out of desperation, I reverted to a restore point a couple days ago when everything was working. Unfortunately, Step 1 failed again giving me the following message:
This will install P-ROC 1.01, please wait

November 5, 2016 at 3:22 pm #40370I think a completely ‘offline’ installer would be a great addition to the site, what happens if files get blocked or download locations get changed?
ALSO-is there a way to completely back up a whole installation on an external hard drive so if the worst comes to the worst you can get the game working again.

November 5, 2016 at 3:59 pm #40372Are you running the installer from the C: drive?
If yes go to C:\P-ROC\scripts and edit the pyyaml-install.bat
change exit to pause and then run the pyyaml-install.bat to see the errors. Post the error here

November 5, 2016 at 9:52 pm #40380Thanks ninuzzu for your continuing help with this, I am running the installer from the C drive. Here’s the log from the pyyaml-install.bat:

November 6, 2016 at 2:19 am #40387That’s a python issue. You can try unistall everything and then reinstall.
Follow these steps to uninstall :
1)extract the PROC_offline_installer to a folder in your desktop
2)inside the folder named files , there’s a file called deregister.bat, double click on it
3)It will ask you to uninstall some files, answer yes
4)when finished,go to the Windows Control Panel and uninstall these apps:
Python2.6-pygame-1.9.1
Python 2.66
P-ROC Environment 1.01
4) Lastly go to C and delete the folders Python26 and P-ROC

November 7, 2016 at 8:03 am #40425ninuzzu,
I’m really sorry to be such a bother. I’ve never before run into such a difficult problem. I tried running deregister.bat but got a “could not open logfile” error and the following screen:
‘import site’ failed; use -v for traceback

November 7, 2016 at 9:41 am #40426Ok, continue with the others uninstallation steps.
Edit: also uninstall pywin32

November 7, 2016 at 12:24 pm #40434ninuzzu,
I successfully uninstalled the two python programs and tried uninstalling pywin32 by running Removepywin32.exe and Removepywin32.bat, both of which produced error messages that (I think) said that no logfile was available. I also deleted all remaining P-ROC and Python26 files. I then tried running Steps 1 and 3 again, which failed. Running yaml-install.bat produced the exact same log as I reported in message #40365 above. As you suggested last time around, I then ran pyyaml-install.bat and got a somewhat different result than I reported in #40380. This time, it was as follows:
C:\P-ROC\scripts>PATH=C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath;C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\System32\Wbem;C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common;C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\;C:\MinGW\bin;C:\P-ROC\cmake\bin;C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps;C:\MinGW\binC:\P-ROC\scripts>setlocal
C:\P-ROC\scripts>cd C:\P-ROC\pyyaml
C:\P-ROC\pyyaml>C:\python26\python.exe setup.py install
The system cannot find the path specified.C:\P-ROC\pyyaml>pause

November 7, 2016 at 2:24 pm #40439It seems you didn’t install python. Where did STEP 1 failed? You have to run STEP3 after both STEP 1 and 2 are completed.
I see some environment variables are also missing. Open a cmd window and type this:
SETX path “%path%;C:\MinGW\bin;C:\P-ROC\cmake\bin;C:\Python26\Scripts;C:\Python26”
Rerun STEP1. If you have an error don’t go ahead, post the error.
If STEP 1 finished without errors, you have pyhon installed: you can verify it by opening a cmd window and then type python

November 7, 2016 at 5:11 pm #40445Hi Ninuzzu,
Glad to see you back here..
Which version of Core.vbs and VpinMAME.dll are we supposed to be running for the updated CCC for VP-master code?

November 8, 2016 at 2:44 pm #40494I tested it with both 10.1 and 102. I have latest VPinMame
Thanks,
I was using one of the beta VPMame.dll’s and the old and the new versions of CCC both would load with errors.
I reloaded the last official VpinMame SAM 2.41 and now it works. I’m still at VPX rev 2820.
