Hi all,
After successfully building an arcade mame pie cabinet, I’d like my next father/son project to be a virtual pinball cabinet.
Saw an ad for this “gaming” computer for $150.
Would this machine suffice for an HD cabinet?HP Z400 workstation tower PC
Fast INTEL Xeon processor 8 Core 2.67 GHz runs like an i7 processor. ( Xeon W3520 Processor )
4 Gigs RAM DDR3
Can upgrade to 8 GB for $20 more.
ATI FirePro V5700 Video Card 512MB with DVI, DISPLAY PORT, and HDMI Adapter
250 GB sata hard drive
Windows 10 PRO operating system
DVD / CD burner
USB, anti virus, chrome
you would need to install your own gaming video card to play games
475 watts power supply with 6 Pin Connector
U can add your own gaming video card or ssd and make it super fast also
It will play FORTNITE , LOL WOW COD DOTA MINECRAFT ROBLOX CSGO … ETC.Thanks all!

December 5, 2019 at 8:10 pm #153539You need a mid to high end PC. if you want pinball on a 4K screen you need an I5 with a GTX1070. If you go with a 1080p setup, a GTX 1050ti with 4GB

This is the graphics card a friend recommended for an HD cabinet.
Seem correct? Â Or overkill?

Definitely not an overkill, a GTX1060 3GB would be just adequate for 1080p. If you’re going for 4K you will need at least a GTX1070 or better (see gtxjoe’s reply above).

Ordered that card. Â Going HD as I have two monitors donated to the project.
Now looking for a suitable PC tower with proper power supply.
