With the next PinUp Popper release being able to install everything and include such feature, like being able to download tables, will the tables be from vpinball or will they be starting up their own table download site, like PinballX did with vpdb.io (best user-friendly site in my opinion)?

Also, will the download feature offer tables that require ROM files?

lol.  where did you hear that the next release will download tables and roms?  The “Baller” installer is for your vpin APPLICATIONS setup/install….not tables.  (it does include two original tables,  thats all)

it doesn’t and never will do tables/roms….

Nailbuster mentioned it in his video he posted to YouTube.  He said you can download community tables.

He said you can GO to the community and download tables…. manually not automagically!

So then, the option inside the frontend shown when he said that actually brings the play to a website in the users’ default browser and not just bring up a list of tables available for download?

The fact that you don’t realize you are talking to Nailbuster on this post should clue you in that you are seriously misunderstanding a lot.

The Baller Installer will NOT include tables and roms and pup-packs (except for the example tables from myself and Scotty Wic which are original tables).

I wasn’t sure if the name was for a single person or if there were multiple people behind the project using the same account.

So will there ever be an option to download tables directly from within the Popper?  I would even pay a monthly subscription for such service, especially if it meant new updates to tables automatically comes down in the background.

…which table build? There’s at least three versions of Medieval Madness, for instance.

This has already been asked by others, and the answer is that the community views such functionality as little better than a scraper that just grabs everything.

Hells, randr has made noise in a video about the SPREADSHEET that merely compiles where everything is.

Providing “automatic” updates does a number of things: someone has to basically make this their FULL TIME JOB to maintain whatever engine is doing the updating because there are three different mechanisms and then THEY are also having to support all the tables rather than the individual authors of those tables, and it flies in the face of the expectation that this isn’t a “fire and forget” sort of hobby; it’s meant to be fairly DIY and you do need to get into some level of interaction with the community.
