Subject: Primitive Polygon Detail Editor – in the Primitive Properties Editor
1. The Editor Primitive detail value will dictate how the primitive is drawn on the screen.
If set to 0 it will switch to the old approximate drawing mode (usually fast).
2. If 1 is entered it will draw each and every triangle (usually slow).
3. If .25 is entered you will get the approximate primitive outline.0= low primitive detail and no slowdown on loading.
1= high primitive detail which will give you a slower load.I have worked with 1 for the last 12 months .
Every so often Visual Pinball would crash.
It would then continue to crash every other play.
Rectification of bug – if you want to work with 1 (more primitive editor detail)
1. Deleted image library before play.
2. Exit and close without saving.
3. Table will continue to load until bug returns again
4. The Software Vertex processing check box, in the Video/Graphics Options editor, will also resolve the issue. –
downside – loading is very slow –I am now using primitive detail values between 0 and 0.25 . I do not need to delete the image library anymore after a Visual Pinball crash. (Have not test between .25 and 1)
The following method can be used if you loose the Primitive outline
1. Select Edit
2. Select Element
3. High Light the Primitive name in the Search/Select Element Name Column
4. Increase the primitive Detail value until you can see the Primitive.
5. If using 1 and you get unwanted problems revert back to a tested bug free lower value. You need to login in order to like this post: click here
