I don’t get, why primitives react so different with images
same material for both a bumper cap and a -not sure how they are called- post plasic cover:
same image applied to both:
outcomes:
seems only the upper left pixel is applied to the post cover… why?
Don’t get me wrong, mostly I get good results, but here must be something I don’t get, which I’d like to know…

November 30, 2019 at 3:36 pm #153046Every mesh has a UV map, which is a map that applies the 2d texture across the 3d mesh. Very likely the post mesh has a uv that points to the green portion of your image. You can open any mesh in Blender, go into UV editor, select the mesh and hit tab (edit mode) and you will be able to see how the mesh is mapped.

December 1, 2019 at 11:07 am #153143ok I guess you mean this?
Don’t worry, I won’t ask for a complete blender tutorial here, just for my very first step: This means, only the first line of pixels represents the uv map? Would explain it.
Just reply yes or no and I’ll try more on my own, promised ;)You need to login in order to like this post: click here
December 1, 2019 at 11:30 am #153144Yeah, nailed it. From there you can remap it as needed, export the mesh and re-import into vp.
