Snowmobile! Sled dogs! ….Funicular!  So…do you haul/pull supplies up on sleds? Going back down could be fun. Man, snowshoeing is a serious work out. Since you’re a Star Wars fan and seem to enjoy snow, as do I to both, are you aware that Harrison Ford stars in a new version of The Call of the Wild coming out next month? Loved most Jack London stories growing up. To Build a Fire? Not so much. Stay safe out in that winter wonderland!

January 18, 2020 at 6:20 pm #159237Oh…based on that last pic of your PF, the yellow does seem to flow with the artwork. But I’d still go white!

January 18, 2020 at 6:25 pm #159238You can’t see it in that picture, but I have a snowmobile in a shed up here that we use to haul stuff in when we need to. This weekend we just backpacked in what we needed.
here is a phone screenshot from the webcam I have mounted to the front of the cabin (I only see snow on the deck from where I’m sitting), that’s the drive through snowmobile shed in the image, the other side is downhill so easier to get out. And the buried deck rail at the bottom.
thanks for a heads up on the Harrison Ford/ Jack London movie, I’ll keep an eye out for it.

yeah, the yellow seems to be a good balance at the top to the yellow lanes at the bottom.

January 18, 2020 at 7:01 pm #159247That location is a dream come true. I used to live in the north woods of Wisconsin in my early-mid twenties and I miss it dearly. Something about a giant snowfall felling all the progress and innovation of man is strangely heartening.

January 19, 2020 at 12:13 am #159293I see that much snow and a beautiful cabin in the mountains. I can’t help thinking about a nice warm fire, and a fine bottle of scotch.

January 19, 2020 at 12:22 am #159294Wood stove it’s first on the list when we get here, even though the furnace keeps it 55 all winter and now that I have internet here I preheat with the new wifi thermostat to 65.
No scotch here, sorry, I do have some Bullit Rye and some Woodford Reserve bourbon in the cupboard. Haven’t had any scotch in a long time been meanning to try some again sometime.

January 19, 2020 at 9:50 am #159365Ha!  “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, …but I used my phone to preheat the cabin before I got there!”

January 19, 2020 at 2:58 pm #159434Wow. That’s cold. Haven’t experience that kind of cold since I was in the army about 40 years ago. Remember I had to take a ski trip in under -40 degree centigrade. Fortunately it was only for a about half an hour or so.
