PUP capture on simple DMD score display

Trying to do a simple PUP capture eg. ‘0’ credits, with JP’s taito space shuttle. However it’s not being recognised by PUP…

I’ve named the capture 1.bmp and set the trigger as D1. Am I missing something? Or does this only work with more modern DMD captures?
