Hey guys. I’m thinking about adding an led matrix to my cab. I am stockpiling parts to have available for when I can get to things. I’m learning as I go and I’m trying to avoid buying parts I dont need. I have  a couple questions that I hope can be addressed.

First can I use just 5 rows of leds strips instead of 7 or is this a specific number of leds being used to make this work? Space constraints make this an ideal option for me if possible. Will it still function as the matrix I’m seeing in your videos with only 5 rows or will it act weird?

The five rows of leds strips I want to use will be approx 29-1/2 wide. Will this longer than average strip affect the display?

I’m fairly new to dof and led wiring so a little help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening! :good:

        The way DOF works

It works off percentage not size but only having 5 roles of lights

It may not look quite is nice is somebody with 8 or 10 rolls
But I have never work with only 5 rolls of lights

Make sure you go with 144 lights per meter

But you are saying it will work and I will get the patterns? I’d love to do the 7 rows but I simply dont know that I really can. I might be able to squeeze a 6th row in but its tight.

Yes I am using 144m strips.
