Using Teensy, Octo, and four Addressable RGB Strips. Power goes to 5v, data goes to each colored line on the Cat5 (Orange Blue Brown Green). The ground lines for each strip go to each striped color.
Does this mean ground only is fed from the cat5 striped cable to each light strip, or do I have to tie in a grounded line as well from the power source? Can I connect the Ground line directly to the hole on the Octo board, giving me ground on each light strip through the Cat5?
Looking for a little clarification. Thanks!

I’ll give it a try, same setup in my cab.
1. The LED-strip needs power (+/-), I use 5V strips.
2. The OCTO/CAT-cables supplies digital control signals, like (0100100101.. or whatever)
Connect like this:
LED-strips need some amperes for power, so thick cables for power.
The thin CAT-cables used for control signals only. Do not try to feed power through the CAT-cables.
Good luck!

Got it working. Took a minute but finally got some great effects. Didn’t realize had to jump pins 15 & 16 on the Teensy.
