    I tried a different rom, and still having the same issue.. I’m wondering if its the Beta I’m running. hmmmm

    after you change rom delete nvrom file “rocky.nv” the load and reload table 2-4 times and see if it works

    Still got the same thing happening. The trough seems to automatically fire as soon as it starts.

    not going to fix issue. ill need to look at this more it works fine here on my desktop but i did get a ball kicked out on cab once so i must have something wrong….

    Try putting in a 2sec timer in vpm init ?

    vpmTimer.AddTimer 2000,"Controller.SolMask(0)=&Hffffffff'" 'ignore all solenoids - then add the timer to renable all the solenoids after 2 seconds

    @thalamus you ever have this extraball kickout on startup? happened to me twice last night out of 20 loads during troubleshooting. Will try adding your suggestion but hard to reproduce here

    @randr : I’ve seen it happen yes. And, this code line fixed it for for Amazon Hunt. Haven’t tried it for Rocky yet. It’s on the to-do list ;)

    Ok added this script.. It fixed the ball being shot out at the start of the table. Only issue now is when the ball is the drain , it doesn’t know when to release the next ball.

    Try getting rid of the controller.run

    I added the following to mine:

    Controller.SolMask(0)=0
    vpmTimer.AddTimer 1000,”Controller.SolMask(0)=&Hffffffff'” ‘ignore all solenoids – then add the timer to renable all the solenoids after 1 seconds

    Those two lines only.  My knocker was firing on every table load.  Never saw the ball in shooter lane issue.  However, the two lines above seem to have fixed it and I’m not seeing any other issues.

    Rothbauerw, do you think its an issue with vpinmame versions or maybe 10.6??  Its weird because I never get that to happen and Randr does I believe only sometimes.  All the times we passed it back and forth working on it we never noticed it.  very strange.

    Late yesterday I tested this myself. Ended up with adding what Roth described as the solution. I also ran through the table for ssf, but, I haven’t tested it yet. It is something I do. I pool up a few tables. Then run through them with my regular edit if they don’t have ssf at all and updates seems to be stabilized. I’ll put it in the repo once basic ssf is verified.

    I’m not sure. But, I believe that it happens every time I completely close vp and start over. If I start and just exit table, I know I’ve seen it behaving. Odd, yes – very. Maybe this is something we should post in the vpm beta thread ?!

    If I remember correctly. The knocker being activated is something I’ve seen of a few other tables too. Algar I believe has the knocker. Amazon Hunt as mentioned. I know there are a few more, just can’t remember from the top of my head which ones. Algar is a 80′ Williams sys 6a (but I used s4 because of mech tilt not working )- Amazon Hunt and this is both Gottlieb sys80a. Maybe that is the pattern ?

    Sure. I just posted the update on github – but, would take me just a minute. Seems to work ok here. I’ll look more into those I’ve mentioned already. But, since you mention a full upload of the table. I want to do some extra changes. Will take me a bit more time.

    Ok. Done. Just some minor improvements like sounds not matching the script and better position of drop targets, all your array controlled sounds where ok, but, all the others where not. Then there is that fix we’ve talked about already.

    Believe it or not the knocker, or other solenoid, when turning the machine on occurs in some real machines, sometimes. I occasionally get it on some of my system 1 machines even with replacement brains, but not every time I turn them on, just sometimes. I’ve read about why it happens but don’t recall at the moment.

    I’ve seen that vp script piece that “fixes” it, but haven’t ever bothered with it unless it was already part of a script I borrowed. I have seen machines kick a ball into the shooter lane at turn on as well, and just plunge it back to the drain before starting a game. I think there have actually been as soon boards made for some machines to fix them as well.

    I consider it a feature, not a bug 😁

    @borgdog sure is strange as some never had issue… bills knocker fired while only my bell fires at start and others had a ball kick out. But the delay indeed fixed issue or broke feature :)
