Okay I have a question.  I finished Installing my 8 channel saintsmart board, in my ICB cabinet this weekend.  When the CPU is turned and booting up the saintsmart board triggers all the channels 2 or 3 separate times, which fires all the attached devices.  Is this normal or is there a workaround for this already?  Not the end of the world, but still annoying.

I don’t use sainsmart but I know they do that on startup. I thought there was a way to avoid it but never looked into it as I don’t use them in a cab.

Yeah my first time using one as well, can’t go wrong with the price though, and shocking was it was 1 day away through Amazon.

I put in a timer relay that keeps the high power off to the coils for a set amount of time after the relay gets power. You can still hear the sainsmart tripping, but the other stuff doesn’t fire.

              Yep its normal.

I used one of these to simply delay the 12 going to the Sainsmart boards.

Go ahead and stock up on blue relays, they burn out too frequently especially on the flippers. Im tired of the Sainsmart and am in the process of converting over to a solid state solution…Pinscape.

5 years ago I bought a Sainsmart board And 3 years ago I bought a second one
Same items Hooked up to both, But the only one I had a problem with was the 2nd one…
My guess is the little relays are made cheaper..
I no longer use Sainsmart boards…

                Try this for the flippers

I use the 16 channel non usb board and mine does not do this on start up.

Interesting! So it’s the usb versions that do it then?

Like BorgDog said, when the usb’s initiate the board triggers.  To me it’s not my main cab so for now I can put up with it, thanks for the ideas on what to do when it gets more annoying.

As for durability I was wondering how long they would last, guess I will see but like I said it’s not my main playing cabinet, I just wanted a little feedback in this one as well
