sam.VBS issues

Hello pinballers! I have download the beta VPX 3 & 4 and I have downloaded the sam.VBS file and am having issues running the sam based tables. I have the .VBS file copied to both my scripts and tables folders and the tables terminate on launch. What can I do to possibly fix this? Any and all help is appreciated.

You only want .vbs files in the scripts folder not in tables folder at all. Also if you install Sam vpinmame make sure you re run setup/install and make sure the .dll is unblocked.

I tried to unblock it, but when I right click on the sam.vbs file, it doesn’t give me the unblock option. Is there another way to unblock it? I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

Where did you get you version of pinmame from?  Make sure you are using pinmame version 2.9 or 3.0 beta from vpuniverse.com

It’s probably not the .vbs. Sam.vbs is essentially just a list of switch numbers.

You need a version of pinmame that has SAM emulation support

you do not unlock the sam.vbs file

you only need to unlock the dll file with SAM support if

you installed Visual Pinball in your Program Files folder

or

if you have your UAC settings at its highest level.

 

all you need to do is drag and drop the dll fiel into your PinMAME directory

• run the Setup.exe
• click the install button, follow the promps

after that click the Test button

look for a SAM table

select the rom

click :Ceck Roms”  to make sure you have the correct rom

click “Start”

the rom should start here

 

after you do all this

Open the table and make sure that the rom name in PinMAME matches the rom name in the script from the table you have.

older tables may have outdated or older versions of the rom names.  You will need to make sure that the rom name in the script matches the roms you have in your roms folder.

Just checked with PinMAME, don’t have the roms for the Stern SAM tables. :( Are they here, by any chance, for download?
