I bought one of these — Shaker Motor Kit (Rev B) for Most Stern SAM System GamesĀ PBL-100-0019-00 —From pinball life
I understand this item is 12 V DC
I’m looking for a little information on the Wiring…..Which wire on the motor is positive?
Will I need to add a Diode or is that the item that’s already on the motor?Do I need to use the circuit board that came with it?
If I need to use the board which color wire on the harnessed will be the positive?

July 25, 2018 at 10:31 pm #93446you need a diode! do NOT use the pcb that came with it. don’t matter what wire you hook +V to it will just turn clockwise or counter clockwise depending on what way you hook it up.

July 26, 2018 at 9:22 pm #93537yes… when people are looking to buy these kits, find the one that has no circuit board with it, it will save you a few dollars…

July 27, 2018 at 9:09 pm #93566You will love the shaker. Best feedback item you can have simulates magnets too and is just perfect amount of rumble.

August 1, 2018 at 9:27 pm #94201Should i leave the Capacitor that’s on the motor were it is?
How close does the diode need to be to the motor?
This refers to the small circuit board? — >pcb<
Thanks for your help

August 1, 2018 at 10:05 pm #94204Leave the capacitor on.
diode should be as close to motor as you can so really justĀ hook it in wherever its convenient and you will be ok just make sure the band on diode is pointing towards +v
You do not need the PCB that came with it and dont use it. I use a H-bridge to control the shakerĀ motor and works great.

August 2, 2018 at 10:51 am #94213Yes, I initially used the circuit board, and it burnt out one of my h-bridge outputs…
Don’t use that board.
Just a diode with an h bridge worked fine…or some kind of octo-coupler i think, etc should work well.\

August 2, 2018 at 5:38 pm #94244Yeah they are around $1.50-$3.00 each work great. Keep in mind you hook this to the ledwiz input. Not the normal outputs of the ledwiz.

August 2, 2018 at 7:16 pm #94247OK thanks for let me know
What port will this be using?
With this H-bridge will I be of a control the speed from 1 to Max With the DOF Software? You need to login in order to like this post: click here
August 2, 2018 at 7:27 pm #94248If you hook it up like that picture then output number 12 is not used on ledwiz and in dof you set shaker to output 12 port and yes this will allow the intensity to work in tool

August 2, 2018 at 11:12 pm #94270If you set your intensity at ONE on the DOF website using a H-bridge how fast do you figure your motor is running – about half speed or quarter speed or barely moving…
Using a Ledwiz and one of these solid State relays – if I set the intensity to ONE….. I’m able to run the motor at half speed or maybe a little less…
Have you ever worked with this type of relay?

August 2, 2018 at 11:16 pm #94273Have not used that relay but relays donāt relay work well for pwm so the h bridge will be much better for motor control. At setting of 1 I donāt think motor would be hardly turning on my setup
