Support for this table begins and ends in this thread only.
This is the initial release candidate of Star Trek. It may have bugs but it is known to me to be a good player and I’ve spent a lot of time on it. Let’s have some fun with it.
This table has been built for use in Visual Pinball 10, the last release tested was build 2162, make sure you have this version before attempting to play.
And the demo video if you haven’t seen it yet (first release)

I downloaded the pro rom from Stern, renamed it and zipped it but still does not work, done this in the past with other Stern tables no problem, should I be using the pro rom?

ok thanks, I downloaded the correct rom now but when I go to launch the table I get an error (Line 122 Game name not found!) line 122 says GameName=cGameName
I have only started messing with the VPX tables but the other few I have tried did work, any ideas?

Rom name is wrong rename to match what it’s looking for or update vpinmame

unfortunately that was not it, the rom is named right and I downloaded the one from vpuniverse, I will try and spend some more time on it tonight and see if I can figure out what is going on

if u have another vp installation then put the rom into that pinmame-subdirectory…
if you start pinmame setup you can select the working paths :D ;)

After getting a chance to place this awhile, I am truly amazed at how awesome this table really is. I got a chance to play the real pin a few times at an Arcade Museum close to my house and the lighting is just wow! Love the animation of the ship and so much more :D This is just my opinion but I think this table is a testament of what is to come with the new VP10 .. thank you very much for releasing this :D

Hi guys,
I kind of got it to work, but not fully. Game starts and it’s working but there is this weird brown layer floating in the middle of it all and I can only see the top part of balls :| The only good thing in this is that I can really see balls bouncing up on the table sometimes so the V10 physics is quite amazing :)

Sorry for the delayed response! That’s due to the playfield primitive appearing over the playfield itself… I am not sure why it’s happening for you though. What version of VPX are you running?
Do any other VPX tables work fine for you without graphical issues? How does it look if you try cab mode instead of desktop?Punch it!

Can’t get this game to work for anything, I have the same issue as cjoli, “Line 122 Game name not found”. Have tried everything possible that I know of. All my other VPX tables work just fine. I have the newest version of VPinMame and the newest beta of VPX. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

@ Flint: sounds like bad rom name? Download code from stern website then rename file and pack to zip with the same name (st_161.bin packed into st_161.zip).
question1) One thing I notice: its hard to enter initial one key stroke ALLWAYS gives me 2 letters… strange, it’s because of table/emulation, my controller (x-box pad + xpadder – but it works flawless in all other games) or it’s rom flaw?
question2) I have seen Stern Metallica work in progress video on youtube – any chance it will be released soon?
