hmm, was going to leave it almost all black starfield, not keen on the stripes  And there was no yoda in Star Wars, he didn’t come around until The Empire Strikes Back.
so if I’m going to do 2 or at most 3 colors on the black, I think the tie fighter would look good in white on the dark grey
was thinking of trying to simplify the image on the dmd (which you don’t have so may not have ever seen), lose the trails and the death star and just have the fighter shooting the beams/blasts at the x-wing

kind of like this only simplify the x-wing down a lot, use 3 colors, gray for the tie fighter, white for the x-wing and orange/red/yellow something for the blasts

Did some more work on it simplifying it down and cleaning it up, still have 4 colors counting more black. Â and several steps
1. spray gray tie fighter back
2. spray black blocks on top of tie fighter
3. spray red shot blasts
4. spray white x-wing back
5. spray black blocks on x-wing
so, one more color and many more steps than Gottlieb would have done, they just did 2 colors in 2 steps.  I could make the tie fighter and x-wing both gray or white, but  I like them this way better.

That looks awesome.. I love it, it will look great on your cab..
Not sure if you did it on purpose, your missing the bottom part of the X-wing’s wing that the red blast part goes over..

Looks cool. Â I’d say stick with the two colors.
Main thing is to test paint on something else to see how the colors will actually come out. Â You are painting over black now and that will affect the colors and it may be hard to cover without multiple coats.
Yeah, the painters at gtlb would not be happy painting that cab design…’what… 3 colors… over black… with multiple masks??!……. we quit!”

I should probably make up a test board to try this all out on (have not done stenciling before either). Â the question becomes grey or white? I think since I already have white
specklesstars grey would be the better choice, or maybe gray. Â Still have just as many steps though unless I want to try and cut the upper blast around the x-wing, easier to just do one line then the white over the top.. maybe.@ICP, good catch, not sure when I lost that bit, need to add it back.
