Hey @mazzaneo – Did you ever work on your wedgehead with speakers project?  Curious what you came up with.

Progress Update 2 for my Gaming PC / Virtual Pinball Cabinet.

Fully working DOF build with Solenoids / Shaker / Knocker and Addressable LED’s.

I wanted a machine which can be used as a gaming PC as well as Virtual Pinball Cabinet so I decided to make one myself.

          Main PC Spec:

          CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

          GPU: Nvidia Geforce 1080Ti

          Ram: 16GB

Main Monitor: iiyama ProLite X4372UHSU 4k

          Back Screen: 43″ LG TV

          Still to do…

          – Tidy up the wires.

          – Build a back frame for the second monitor

          – Add a glass cover for the playfield

          – Paint the cabinet.

           Youtube link to progress:

Motorized lift for the bg?  Alrighty then.  That is something I never thought I’d see.  And cool incorporation of the Harmon K’s.  But…no wedgehead?

Speaking of wedgehead design, I’ve been staring at your pics @borgdog and…I can’t quite figure this out –  Your vertically mounted bg monitor appears to be mounted flush against the thinnish front panel.  Which looks perfect!  But what trickery did you do to deal with the overhang?

@jfr1, basically eliminated it. The lower portion has, if I remember right, 1/4″ plywood over the monitor that is on the same plane as the glass above. In fact I think it is what holds the bottom edge of the glass. If I remember I’ll take a pic this weekend, it is disassembled in storage at the cabin at the moment, but the head is easily accessible.

The backbox is completely independent of the main cabinet and can be removed by unlocking the 4 hinges. (see pic)

I have put wheels at the bottom so that any amount of violent shaking does not affect the integrity of the build.

                  So…

An illusion.  I think I’m seeing it now.  Looks great.  Would love to see any other pics you have of this you can easily share.   Or…as long as you have it all apart, box it up and part ways with it.  I’ll pay for the shipping.  To me.

I wish I had taken more pics and vids of the process but I was too focused on building the damned thing.

I will be moving it into place soon so when I dismantle it I will make a video and take pics of the process to give you all a more detailed view.

This is my first stab at wood working and as such I’m sure there’s people out there who can do a far more polished job of the whole thing.

I’ll also supply measurements at some point for anyone who wants to make or indeed, I’m prove on the design.

@jfr1 tough to photo it, but it was I remembered, just 1/4″ of overhang on the wedgehead part. Sinbad and Nobs cabs stored to the left, Joker Poker out of frame to the right but setup and playable.

                      on it's head in storage.

Hold on, why are these apart?  Did you dog-sled them out to the cabin??

Lol. Not enough room to have everything setup. Quit work last June sold house in town and moved to the cabin.

Awesome.  Pretty sure you’ve had the best escape plan I’ve seen.  Cheers!

Loved that interview. Happy to hear you being that excited for the exciters. – Just you wait until the improved ssf is out ;-)

But, you have to get yourself a proper tilt bob – shaking the cab like that without tilting ???

Yeah, I didn’t set the tilt sensitivity yet! Hehe
