August 11, 2020 at 2:37 pm #195118the table is pretty much done it might be uploaded by the weekend

the PF just got another light insert rebuild within the last few days,
changing it now to another PF scan would result in a semi rebuild of the table
what we do need is
a HQ drop target decal, I used the decals from the VP9 table
I just got new one but the quality is not that good.
and more importantly a HQ scan of the Backglass
Toms table has a backglass with sun damage ; we cant use his scans
I used Frens image; and like an idiot. I deleted the image
I tried to rebuild the dB2s with correct bulb placement but
I get this error when I try to import the dB2s I made into the same editor I used to create the dB2s file.

so the dB2s needs a complete rebuild; with a new image
a HQ scan I’m hoping you can provide.

August 11, 2020 at 8:30 pm #195182Finally got mine done, love Williams tables more and more every day.

@32assassin, you can see what I was saying about the rollover lane guides, the top and bottom are the same but the LEDs make the difference, I even threw some purple ones in the top right to light the plunger lane at the top. Here is a slo mo of the center light progression. Maybe Matt @mlager8 can help us with this to make it look better like we did with the jukebox in party animal .

it’s kinda the key piece on the playfield and we have the black image. If we could render a couple different stages with those two light sources and script them that would look killerYou need to login in order to like this post: click here
August 11, 2020 at 8:32 pm #195184I would love to do something with the inserts too because they are awesome properly lit. The colored part glows and the vpx insert lights drown out the image on them

I sort of want to retake this picture with more even lighting and less reflections (as best I can since it’s a mirror), but here you go. It’s been color balanced and lens corrected etc. in PS. I don’t know if this forum re-sizes images, but it should be 3988×3404, which is probably overkill now that I think about it.

This is a scan from a set of 30A-7547 decals I have yet to apply to the actual drops. The fuzziness and faded black is as it appears in person. Again, 600DPI is probably a bit much.

This is just for bulb reference, although I believe other Williams heads have this same arrangement. Obviously, the “bulb” colors are not that of the original.
@Tom, I plan to swap out the new playfield with the old worn out one once I’m finished staring at it and saying “I’m going to swap these playfields someday”.

August 12, 2020 at 5:51 am #195247August 12, 2020 at 2:37 pm #195297the drop target texture has been rebuild,
I used Toms decal, it turns out that the texture for the drop target is only 128 pixels.
the decal cleaned up a little bit when it was sized down from 512p to less then 128p
I’m going to rebuild the dB2s and I’m scaling the image down to 2560 pixels.
the largest monitor used for a backglass is usually 32 inches. any dB2s image larger then 2560p
is a complete over kill.

August 12, 2020 at 2:49 pm #195299Do you think you can make the center disk look nice or should we try and make a prim disk and render it

August 12, 2020 at 5:36 pm #195305I made new textures for play-field on and off states which I’m attaching below.
I’m actually supplying 3 images even though you will ultimately only need 2. There’s an ON image, an OFF image, and a DIFFERENCE image. If you just wan’t to do a texture swap then you only need ON and OFF, but if you want to use a flasher to get a more realistic bulb fade then you need OFF, and DIFFERENCE.
For the flasher you’d use the OFF image as the play-field image, then make a flasher the same size as the PF and use the DIFFERENCE image in both the A and B image slots and set the “Filter Image B->A” mode to Additive and the amount to 100, also check off additive blend.
I stuck a screen shot of the Flasher settings in the zip that I used for the sling lights on escape from the lost world to the same effect, but I turned down the opacity to make them less intense. Anyway let me know if there’s any issues.

August 12, 2020 at 10:09 pm #195367@32assassin, was playing some more. Flippers are still too strong. I moved them down to 1800 on strength and thats alot better.
Just looked at Nfozzys recommendation and he said 1200-1800 so that would be the high end but i think thats fine
