Just to inform. I see that Arngrim added the table script to the git repo. So, it might be of interest to some of you ?!
“Splitted shared switches with DOF Commands for DOF Config in the configtool”, line 527-528.

November 25, 2019 at 11:12 am #152129william powell. Never heard of him, whats the deal?
Yeah, William Powell. I’m a big classic cinema nut. William Powell is one of my favorites. Always suave but not self-serious like a Clark Gable type. Just a terrific comic actor. The Thin Man is required New Years Eve watching at our house. My Man Godfrey is also a masterpiece. He’s the kind of guy I’ll watch in anything.
@thalamus, I did talk to arngrim over the weekend and I’ll get this updated with his script shortly. Just waiting to see if any other bugs fall out.You need to login in order to like this post: click here
November 25, 2019 at 12:35 pm #152148I went through The Thin Man series when I first signed up to Netflix over ten years ago. Prior to streaming! Had forgotten how enjoyable they are. Always thought that avatar looked familiar. Just spotted that they are on Youtube now. And One Way Passage – – one I’d wanted to watch and forgot about, is on Archive.org. Woohoo – – slow day at work.

November 25, 2019 at 7:07 pm #152201As someone who considers myself a bit of a cinema buff I’m embarrassed I have seen either… For new years I guess I’ll have to throw this one on after it’s a wonderful life

November 25, 2019 at 7:36 pm #152290…we are going sideways a bit, sorry bord…but the writer Dashiell Hammet should be mentioned. The reason I found William Powell and The Thin Man movies was because of Hammet’s Maltese Falcon. That then pointed me toward his other works. And The Thin Man. This’ll be fun revisiting.

November 25, 2019 at 9:42 pm #152305Oh man, I love this topic. Hammet is excellent. Last December and January I read Glass Key, Thin Man, and Maltese Falcon. I also read the entire Chandler catalog, which I love even more.
Impossible to measure how both of those authors redefined the hard boiled genre, but also all of film history from 1941 onward. There is hardly a more fascinating document of post-war America than the full noir cycle (ending in roughly 1958).
Somebody better stop me. This could go on for awhile.

November 25, 2019 at 10:55 pm #152311Hammett and Chandler changed things. Created a new direction for other writers to consider. Even today. Looking at you Christopher Nolan!
…and that’s what you’re doing bord.

February 10, 2020 at 9:30 pm #162696Bord, you are a VP master. The lighting on your tables is always exquisite! I try to keep the collection on my cab manageable (around 50 tables) but it is hard to resist adding all of yours to the mix.
Nice work…again! ?

February 11, 2020 at 12:17 am #162708I used to try to keep my collection to 100. I’m over 200. Mostly bord’s fault.
