So i need to get rid of that file in my tables folder, if it’s in there?  I’ve never had this problem before, and right now, it’s only class of 1812 (that I know of).

I’ll take a look and report back here after I make the changes.

Wow . This is awesome. I thought I was “finished” when I got all the table sand backglasses to work properly….

    thank you for all this…

My friend is now getting this error after he updated to the latest VPX version:

    VPMflips error:  Variable is undefined

    UseSolenoids = 2 error !

    GameOnSolenoid not defined!

System may be incompatible (Check the compatibility list) or your system scripts may be out of date

I had him search his Tables folder for any VBS in there and he has none.

Is it an older Core.vbs he has and needs updated?

Most probably the culprit – yes.

Where exactly do I put the .vbs files from the repository so that VPX knows to use that new script?

Also, if I have say v1.4 of a table, but the repository has v1.3, will this still work or should I just keep the script from v1.4? An example from the repository is High_Speed_(Williams 1986)_mod_1.3.vbs.

    Thanks.

@scooby : You’ve learned that you should not place *.vbs files into tables folder. But, well, for these, you can. They need to be in the same folder as the table, and have the same name as the table, without the extention. Just like a *.directb2s

I don’t recommend trying to use 1.3 script on the 1.4 table. In some cases it would be ok, if there has been only graphical or physical changes made to the table. But, very often it is not. I normally would upload a update on request, but, I see that this table is heavily modified by me on my end. Stolen a lot of samples from different tables etc. So, in order to make a update to 1.4 – I kind of would have to download a clean 1.4 and redo it. There has been so little feedback from the community on these, and I have no idea as to how many are using them either so, I’m kind of reluctant to doing it only for you scooby. Sorry.

But, if there are other tables you feel you are missing. Let me know.

Thanks, I appreciate the info and effort. I have modified this 1.4 table version to my liking, so all is good there. I have been amazed at the ability to change sounds with the VPX sound manager along with having SSF installed. I can change most tables to my liking with just the sound manager, however there are some older tables that are not quite as easy. For example, when a table has included a separate left/right slingshots, ramps and flippers, this makes a huge difference.

I’ll let you know if I come across a table that would be nice for your SSF update. Thanks!

I still check the repo for new commits. But more of the recent releases have been good about enabling fastflips, SSF, etc. Less need for a separate script to update features.

I get over there about once a month, Every once in a while I’ll find a updated script that’s newer then one I’m using
Like @carnypriest says more tables are being redone and/or New ones being released have pretty much the latest and greatest Built-in
But there still are quite a few that don’t have all the goodies

       — I’m going to guess a lot of people don’t even know the github is there with the scripts
If  @randr  had a way of posting little messages on either side of All support topics with a link

What I meant is on the edges of the topics if there were little links there people would be constantly seeing them

If there could be something automatically added to each post every time you post something then the information would be out there more often
Another words in your account you could set up something so every time you post it would show up at the bottom of the post

Hmm. Thanks for the feedback. I’ve guess I’ll continue trying to keep my repos in sync then. Just need to figure out a better way to keep my local changes separate.

@scooby : I decided that I’ll do a quick edit for you. Mind you. I haven’t tested this one – just edited it quickly. Let me know if there is any issues. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sverrewl/vpxtable_scripts/master/Getaway%2C%20The%20-%20High%20Speed%20II%20v1.04.vbs

Ignore the date in my change comment, I used 1.2 to find the differences with and forgot to change it.

Ups .. I see now that I downloaded the wrong version of this table. Well, doesn’t hurt. Maybe someone else is still using ganjafarmers version.

    I’ll fix it later on.

I guess I’ll have to thank you scooby for mentioning this table. I was wrong on my first assumption. When I saw the sample names, I thought I’ve modified this on my end already. Noticed a few things. Believe the table starts now without the knocker going off, spinners and sounds using array should now at least work better. Did a very quick test play and it looks ok to me.

Thanks for the updated script and sounds. I just updated my sounds with your script and the sound manager and it plays and sounds awesome.

A side note, I noticed my system would slow down when the flashers went off. For some reason, 4xAA was turned on for this table only. Now seems good. Just wanted to mention this in case anyone else has this turned on by mistake.

Yes. Authors should learn to keep those settings default when releasing. 4xAA on 4k is easy to spot here though. I hear the GPU fans start up almost immediately. One other thing I always do. If I see that the gate from the ball release – it becomes hidden pretty fast. It is ugly and doesn’t exist on any machine.
