Is the second DMD the a duplicate  External DMD or the Pinmame (Internal) one?

When you start the table hit F1 to bring up pinmame options, from there make sure the box “show DMD/display Window” is UNCHECKED.  Hit okay then restart the table.  By doing this you are turning off the internal piname window, which hopefully is the issue.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah I have the DMD box unchecked. I feel like its a duplicate DMD ya know as I have seen a coloured version of the dmd displayed on the full screen. Like the same one but bigger…. it just does not make sense!?.

Do you have the backglass running as well?  As a test try forcing that to disabled (1) in the registry to see what happens.

edit: are you able to move either one of them with your mouse?  set VP to not exclusive full screen to test.

Force disable backglass gives the same result = second dmd.

The dmd that I want, on the backglass I am able to move around, the one on the playfield is locked fullscreen.

 

How do I set Vp so it is not exclusive FS?

don’t worry about the full screen thing.  That was a just incase you couldn’t get to your mouse cursor.

In the script delete the line that says UseVPMDMD = DesktopMode.

I deleted that line but was still the same :(

I have just recorded a short video, it is just uploading to youtube so you can see what is happening. I actually deleted all reg entries for the table and it started with the vpinmame options checked for use pin2dmd and unchecked for external dmd that time…… table ran perfectly, but no dmd?… soon as i try to use external dmd, the problems start

Also in the script, line 63-ish.  make sure  .ShowDMDOnly=1

If it’s already set to 1, try set to 0.  Then start the table, stop, go back and set to 1 and start again.  This is for all the diagnostic stuff showing below the DMD.

When you setup like his screenshot, are you sure the virtual dmd is not just behind the playfieled somewhere?  You can hit the “windows” button to see if it is running in the background

One thing i have noticed now with the set up the way it is, is that when I launch the table, the full screen dmd flashes on for 1/10th of a second and then its gone completely.

Ok. Take a backup of your dmddevice.ini – then replace the top part of it with this.

Also, inside every ROM you’ve setup – delete the redundant

pindmd2 enabled = false

See if that helps. I’m a bit unsure about setting stayontop to enable or disable for you. I’ve heard some people having issues when it is set to enable so lets just try with it disabled first.
