A game of cat and mouse!
Remember coming home after school, or sitting in front of the TV on Saturday morning with your favorite bowl of cereal, and watching this classic? It’s been almost 80 years since this hilarious cat and mouse duo debuted, and they’ve finally made their way to VPX! Now, you can “play” the cartoon and re-live all of those fond memories right at your fingertips! Tom & Jerry have literally invaded your pinball table and that’s just the beginning. You’ll help Jerry collect all of his cheese, challenge Tom to a Pin”brawl”, and encounter many other zany surprises! There’s no stopping these two in this fun and exciting adventure!

Does anyone know if this would mess with your Hollywood heat rom? I know beach bums had a slight mod so that your Hollywood heat table would not be affected.
This is is the main reason I haven’t played the clash table yet.

If I recall correctly rly it on mutes rom sounds. Â So easy to unmute if it does happen

rocco, yes, it will compromise your HH table, for now. Official rom coming on next VPinMAME release. :)

It would if that is what it uses. The process to fix it is to hex-edit and make some custom text so that the rom itself stands out from the original. Then contact Carny who can make it into a official supported rom.

So apparently, Beach Bums was not a fluke…
What can I say? I’m floored, FLOORED at the overall quality of this game.
- even though it’s based on the Hollywood heat rom and therefore ruleset, the layout is totally unique (I think) and therefore this feels like a TOTALLY different table
- there are a bazillion (I counted! ;) ) little animations here and there. Amazing, we can see it’s something special from the screenshot but that’s nothing
- tom/jerry in the window of the shed
- Game is fun to play!
- Physics so far seem pretty good to me!
- Music well implemented so far (though I haven’t gotten multiball yet)
- If we can give a score on if a theme is well implemented, I would have to give this a 5/5, 10/10, 100/100, etc. It’s just nailed as close to perfection as I could think
Recommendations:
- Since Hollywood Heat is such a strong release in its own right, I’m glad to read there will be its own entry in the next VPM, so that both can have their own rom. The quality and polish of this table has earned your spot sir
- We don’t usually see separate 2 screen or 3 screen backglass as a single backglass can be set for both. In saying that, I instinctively tried setting the 2 screen as a 3 screen and it worked (the grill and LED segment display disappeared), however the game wouldn’t pop out a ball so downloaded the real 3 screen version and everything worked fine. So this isn’t really an issue, just an FYI
- I dunno, maybe there’s a way to add more frames to the Tom head so it’s movement are maybe smoother? I’m reaching here! LOL
Once more in case I’m not clear, fantastic job. I’m not the biggest fan of the T&J cartoons but I have always liked them and you, sir, could not have honored them any better. Congrats!
