I am trying to add basic DOF support to one of my original VPX tables. I run a desktop setup and do not own any hardware that supports DOF. For now I have two questions:
- Is there a reference for what positions on a table the “8 bumper” and “10 bumper” solenoids correspond to, so that I have some idea for what to use for when things on my table are hit?
- Could someone that owns a DOF enabled cabinet please volunteer to test for me?

September 8, 2020 at 4:45 pm #200304I found an image explaining the position of the solenoids
Now I need someone with DOF hardware to test my table.

September 9, 2020 at 11:24 am #200373Is the table in the configtool yet ? And, well – my dof is still down, so I can’t help you on this.

September 10, 2020 at 7:47 am #200431No, how would I do about adding a table to the config tool?

September 10, 2020 at 8:58 am #200442That is actually a question I’m not 100% sure about everything, except that @arngrim, @bord and @rand all know. What I believe often is done though, is that you pick one of the “loose” test names and give your table that name ( gamename ) and login to configtool and use that “template” as your own, until you’ve got it working. But, in your case, where you as a author can’t test it. You either have to take @outhere up on his offer to test it, or release it without dof, AND if the table is “fun”, then I’ll bet that you will be offered some help to get it implemented. It is actually a bit of work to implement DOF, you’ve got the table and the setup for the config itself so everyone can download them both and being able to enjoy it. Much work is laid down behind the scene in this community.

September 10, 2020 at 9:44 am #200443For now I’ll focus on adding events to the script. This table was released in 2017 and I got no offers to help with cabinet support then.

September 10, 2020 at 12:59 pm #200459which table are we talking about?
i need a game name a the cgamename used in the script to create an entry to the configtool, that will be a good start already
if the table doesn’t exist in the configtool yet of course

September 10, 2020 at 1:56 pm #200483The table is Shovel Knight (Original 2017).
It uses a cGameName of “shovelknight”.
The current downloadable version does not yet have DOF events.

September 13, 2020 at 9:15 am #200856@arngrim Thanks to the testing by outhere, there is now a candidate DOF configuration for Shovel Knight that is ready for the game to be added to the DOF config tool. Or do you require a version of the table with DOF events to be available first?

but yes if you send me a version of the table, i can verify, and maybe enhance the table like the other originals i work on if necessary, to have a full dof experience
