June 19, 2016 at 2:08 pm #31887If you are maxing out your download speed from your ISP, is it still beneficial to upgrade to one of these?

June 19, 2016 at 2:51 pm #31889Well that depends. Wired to my desktop computers i was getting 125mbps but wifi upstairs/downstairs was inconsistent speeds from 10-30mbps now those wifi setups are 125mbps also (wifi) so as fast as i get wired with this new router. This is testing using http://www.speedtest.net on different systems around the home

June 19, 2016 at 3:08 pm #31892Hm… thanks for the info. Â I think our setup is good for now, but I may get one of these if we move. Â Gonna keep an eye on it.

June 19, 2016 at 3:45 pm #31893For fun run speed test on a computer that is wired to router…then go to farthest wireless device and run speed test see what you get. Our home is only 4000 square feet and was bad in daughters room which started the whole reason for the upgrade really

June 19, 2016 at 4:26 pm #31895Yeah, that’s why I think I might wait until we move. Â We want to buy a house at some point. Â Right now, our main hang-out spot is directly above the router, and we get pretty good speeds. Â Also, our ISP, TWC, in this area only goes up to 30mb ($70 a month, wtf???) so that is a factor too… we seem to always max out on that.
