      Hi

I am using the virua pin controller I think its the v3

I have nudging enabled but get a very small response to nudging what  are the settings used to get a more dynamic nudge. If someone could explain settings that give a minimal response and settings that give a large response I’ll find somewhere in between to give me the right nudge for my system.

      Thank-you

          Thank-you Thalamus,

This has fixed my ability to nudge the table and it’s working very well.

While I’m working on this, do you know of a setting for the tilt. I see tilt sensitivity and I have it set to 2 and it still won’t tilt.

Is there somewhere else I need to change something.

          Thank-you  for your help

The higher the number the greater the tilt sensitivity. A number of 2 will be near impossible to tilt. I have it set to 950.

              Hi Tenaken,

Thank-you for your input. I will try to figure this out. So far I have tried higher numbers with the box checked and it hasn’t made a difference either way. I don’t know what is wrong but it won’t tilt there must be some other setting I’m not enabling.  I will keep trying higher numbers but there has to be anouther setting somewhere.

              Thank-you

I believe the table has to be tilt enabled in the scripting as well. Have you tried different tables?

Nothing is better for tilt than a real tilt bob. Persistent across all machines, easy to implement and cheap too. Basically. Bind the hit that the bob sends to T, rename Nudgplugin*mjr*accel*vbs ( don’t remember the exact name ) to NudgPlugin.vbs and you are up and running. On some tables you might want to change the tilt sensitivity by changing the value of vpmNudge.Sensitivity – on Originals and EM’s you might need to add If keycode = MechanicalTilt Then …. and on the soon to be released Party Animal you might need to copy the nvram I hope will be provided into nvram folder so it tilt after 3 warnings.

I will look at the rom and see how it’s set.

                    Thank-you Thalamus.

That sounds like a good idea. is their a set up on the forums for the tilt bob. It seems like an good and inexpensive fix if it is easy to set up.

What about a Slam Tilt Switch are they basically the same?

My question is now. Why would you use a Slam tilt switch instead of a bob that actually is made for what you are trying to do ? Of course they are not the same.

It is very easy to install. You only need to hook up one cable to the keyboard controller, the other to ground, and assign it T.

                      https://www.pinballshop.nl/cabinet-parts/hardware-and-fasteners/williams-bally-complete-tilt-mechanism-assembly-a-15361/

It doesn’t matter what end goes to the keyboard controller. Adjusting the bob however does require a bit of work to get just right.

The Slam Tilt switch is physically another switch distinct from the Tilt Bob, and is meant for when the machine is not over-nudged, but actually has something that can be construed as physically violent done to the machine – kicking in the coin door, for example. There’s typically a weighted switch on the playfield, and a switch on the coin door. The one on the playfield is weighted enough it only trips for something like the machine is slammed really hard, like lifted up several inches and then dropped, and the one on the coin door gets tripped if the coin door is distorted by impact.

+1 to getting a real tilt bob. Should be the first thing you add after flipper buttons IMO.

Interesting.  Glad this thread showed up now  – – just recently incorporated a kl25z into my set up and have been figuring out nudge/tilt.  Hadn’t given much thought to a real tilt bob.  Now I have, and ordering one now.  Fascinating.  Love having physical things interact with the Master Control Program.

Someday soon I’ll explore your insistence to replace my arcade buttons with leafs.  Any chance you have some pics from Copenhagen?

Very few. Was drunk most of the time outside of the competition ;-)

You need to switch to leaf asap my friend.

It is true. I didn’t take many pictures. 5 maybe all in all. This one is from the day before opening. I needed to find the place, so I took a walk and was allowed to have a sneak peek inside. This is their standard check-list with notes and of course testing.
