After upgrading to this version from version 4, my vpx tables hang at the last step before they are loaded on screen. All vpt versions work normally.
I’ve tried going back to 4, also to 5, and now they too do the same thing.
Any ideas of how to find and fix this?
Thanks,

January 26, 2019 at 12:05 pm #111229Need more information… are you getting error? If so what is the error? Did you make sure to copy all .vbs files to scripts folder and you don’t have any .vbs files in tables folder?

January 26, 2019 at 12:06 pm #111230I’ve installed this 3608 revision over 3592 and I have two errors and vpx quits on every table.
first it shows error “InitPin3D Error code: 80004005” and right after there is this one: “Problem occured during Player init”
works like a charm at 3592 rev.
I’ve just overwritten the files… should I do anything more ?
regards
Lukasz

January 26, 2019 at 12:25 pm #111238No errors, it just hangs with the “working” indicator just spinning, and it’ll stay like that forever til I end the task. I’m launching directly, no front end, and it quickly loads up to the last indicator, stays there forever! This was working in 10.4 before I installed 10.6

January 27, 2019 at 9:35 am #111363I’m getting the same error as Lukpcn but only on the Avatar table, ACDC no longer shows DMD, nor does Avengers

January 27, 2019 at 10:30 am #111368I tried all those tables – mostly because you mentioned Avatar. I had no problems with Avatar. It doesn’t have SMAA set as an table option, which was the bug that tripped a few users over because they had it set under graphics options and happened for every game. There are a few tables that has this set under table options as default. Those would also crash until next release. This is why we have beta releases. I should mention that I tried also ACDC and Avengers. No issues, but, the again I have a “real dmd”, not LCD. So, I can’t really verify your problem.

January 27, 2019 at 12:49 pm #111468as to the problem, fix is: Don’t use “Quality SMAA” in Video preferences! Use Quality FXAA” instead
the fix is already on the way…

January 27, 2019 at 12:50 pm #111470I also tried to get rid of this slow table loading problem.
It get’s stuck for a while until it shows the table.
Virus programs are completely disabled.
I try to get an idea of it and used the task manger but nothing special shown.
I think it is not related to a special table. Will do some measuring between 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6…
Will also add a screenshot of the video settings…
I’m using Win10 / gtx 1070 / i5

January 27, 2019 at 1:10 pm #111478Slower loadig is kind of expected by this last beta release. It does more while loading. I expect you see a difference from the next to last to the newest. I don’t see a huge difference myself so I’m fine with it. Comparing 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 isn’t really that useful. The development goes forward and not backward except for fixing bugs and obvious errors.

January 28, 2019 at 1:32 am #111531Yesterday as I tried to check… I’ve recognized that ACDC needs more time than AFM.
Just to get an idea of it… What’s “normal” time from “press play button” to “ready” table?
Is there a way to measure it (logfile or so)?
I measured it by cam recording calling it via cmd line:
vpx.exe -Play tables\ACDC_LUCI.vpx
10.5 (which came with installer): around 26 secs
10.6 (latest): around 43 secs
using B2S Server, DOF.
Tables are running fine then… So this isn’t really a problem.
Working with windows sometimes issues appear where there haven’t been issue before…

January 28, 2019 at 7:14 am #111537I reverted back to 3592 and avatar works again, but I have still lost ACDC and Avengers dmd, using a pindmd3 they were working before the update. All other 193 tables working fine

January 28, 2019 at 8:00 am #111539Here is something weird, if I load Avatar and start it then back out to the editor and load ACDC or Avengers they both work but if I try to load either of those independently then don’t

This longer loading time should be gone when using rev 3608 or newer.. (it has a SMAA bug for now though (which is already fixed internally))
