After switching windows and VPX audio configuration to surround sound 7.1 I found that I lost all music/callout sounds (center and subwoofer are disabled in the windows config). After several hours of research I figured out that VPX was playing mono audio streams to the center surround sound channel. Most ROM’s audio output are mono which explains (or at least suggests) why I couldn’t hear them. Dataeast’s Star Wars is a stereo ROM and I could in fact hear that one which seemed to confirm the situation. I found this reference [https://superuser.com/questions/1405286/why-does-windows-10-send-mono-audio-to-the-center-channel-of-a-5-1-setup] which might suggest a programming solution within VPX if they are interested.
The workaround was to use EqualizerAPO to redirect center channel to the backbox left and right channels and this works fine.
Is there some other solution that I am missing as I would have thought this would have come up on a visual pinball search much more readily than it did.

I think the answer to that is that we are – almost all ?? using EqualizerAPO and Peace.
