So i installed the same vpx.1 installer kit on the cab…and PRESTO!!! WTF!!!!!
There must have been something wrong with the dx9 installer i already had, and have been using the whole time.
Now CC get around 200fps with all on with the 970 card. And 800fps on T2 (1400 with 9.92)..
GAHHH….
So will install the r7 again tomorrow, it will be enough. Then i sell the 970 (it’s too loud).

July 4, 2016 at 11:10 pm #32946Hello guys,
I made another very good observation. for me at least. I reinstalling from scratch windows 10 (I was windows 7) and don,t know why but the FPS is much higher. Robocop from 105 to 130 now. The soprano from 75 to 165 FPS.
But at same time, I”m not finish with the full setup.

July 5, 2016 at 3:36 pm #32970Similar result for me, did a full install of Windows 10 from Windows 7. Went from low FPS on most VPX tables and sound stutter on any SAM based table to butter smooth FPS and sound.

There was DX9 through DX9c, and they were released about 2 years apart, I think… so if you had an older one it’s possible it was a good bit different than the newest one. Glad to hear you were able to get it figured out.
Same with Windows 7 and Windows 10… those two OS were about ten years apart… so it’s not too surprising that you guys get different results on them.

I think I would have got the same result with just a fresh Win 7 install but currently not seeing any reason to use Win 10.
Note that my setup is a fairly basic 2 screen one using Pinball X (no DOF or DMD etc) so not sure how well those work with Win 10.

I think you will probably get a different answer for each time you ask this question… I, personally, like to keep up to date… however, I was on Win 10 and it caused too many little problems for me so I rolled back to Win 8.1 some time ago. I have never had a single issue with Win 8 or 8.1. I’m sure I will update to 10 again at some point, or whatever they make next.
I just try not to let my OS get too out of date because I like to play games, and you start to get issues after the OS is too old.
This is just my opinion. The next guy you ask will probably say you should be on XP.

July 7, 2016 at 4:30 pm #33028Recently I installed a GTX970 in my pincab (had a 750Ti this is now in my PC) after I convinced myself this would solve my problems with running The Walking Dead table. It did not solve this but I must say it was worth the money. The majority of VPX tables run at 300+ fps with all options on (except AA, will try the suggestion to force this via Nvidia control panel) and VP9 tables run at 900+fps. Some tables like Dracula still give me troubles but I expect playing with the LampTimer setting will solve this.
