Hi
I’m trying to set up some new VPX mods and I’m getting check your rom path or the roms are missing.
It is the same path and rom I have used all along.
If I run a vp9 table it works fine. Some VPX tables work fine but others give me rom path errors.
Does anyone know what causes that to happen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
THANK-YOU

February 3, 2019 at 4:11 pm #112718Answered you on VPF. No real reason to ask the same question in all the pinball sites
You have forced exclusive mode set to true in video preferences and the ddraw is not set to 0 ?You need to login in order to like this post: click here
February 4, 2019 at 8:09 pm #112904Thank-you Thalamus,
You have been a great help.
I hope it goes well editing the reg. Do you know of any instructions around the forums. It sounds simple enough. Is this a common problem. I have never seen this before and I am now seeing it on about 5 tables of maybe 10. Did I read somewhere to remove the wrong folder in the reg and put the right folder in its place in the reg.
I won’t be able to get at it today but it will be soon.
I have tried to set up a few pup packs and most of those tables are the ones giving me the grief. I did get WOZ working and that is amazing to see the involvement in the table. I hope to get these working. I thing all the packs are in place and even show the backglass but don’t start because of the rom issue. These new packs are amazing.
Thanks again.

This explains something else, but it almost tells you what you need. On that picture you see the registry entries for the rom on the right side. You need to find ddraw, double click it – change it to a 0 if you run with force exclusive under video preferences.
Knowing this stuff is something that just goes with the hobby. Sometime a table will not start at all and then you might consider doing the mentioned. In this case you just tweak the setting for just this rom. Of course, you have to look in the table script for what rom your are using. Often found looking like this cGameName = “

February 6, 2019 at 11:44 am #113133Thank-you very much,
This is working great for me,
but there is one thing. My dmd shows up on the playfield and not the backglass on every table including AMH. If I take the mouse and click and drag the playfield disappears.
I can click on the dmd and drag it if I do so before the playfield shows shows up in AMH It seems to get placed under the playfield. I think that is a great table and I’m glad I can at least get away with that for that table.
I have it set to show up in front of the backglass in a 900 x 125 box set up in pinupplayer
As I said it works fine in WOZ
I have most of the tables I’ve tried to run with PUP working except Tron.
Ironically I bought my cab from GRS and it was the best available art pack premade(at least for me)
But I seem to have the wrong rom
You have had all the answers so far I’m hoping you or someone can help me with moving the dmd.
Thank-you

February 7, 2019 at 4:15 am #113198Yeah. Well. That is one of the problems with running fullscreen exclusively. If there is any errors or you need to move something. Then that kind of needs to be done in the windowed mode. So, jump back to windowed and move it so it consistently ends up where you want it before jumping back.
If it doesn’t show up at all anymore ( put it hidden ) there is two things you can do. Either look at the wiki here how to get it back, or the more fun way. Run JPSalas Serious Sam table. He forces in the the release the ultraDMD going from hidden to be shown.

February 7, 2019 at 7:40 pm #113277Thank-you
I set it to window mode and in dmddevice.ini I moved it to where I want. I do have a new problem though. I cant seem to get rid of the dmd in tables that dont use it like sinbad it shows up and runs even if there id no info. It doesnt show up in the vpx of captain fantastic so it must be removed in the script or maybe an em factor.
I have set the show dmd to false and hidden to 1. What do I need to do to remove it from these tables.
I think this is an external dmd and not the vp dmd (as per pinup player setup) can I have it only show when I need it and not on tables like sinbad that have active counters in the b2s
Thank-you for all your help

February 8, 2019 at 9:10 pm #113619Thank-you Thalamus,
This is great, you have been so much help. I am able to set up most of my tables now that I’ve learned a few settings I wasn’t aware of.
I really appreciate all your help on this. I will definitely have more questions in the future but I’m good for now.
Thank-you
