February 8, 2021 at 11:56 pm #223099Never realized how much this game suits a film noir theme before, bravo! Really beautiful work. I am really enjoying the new sidewalls, and all the other little details, and as everyone else has said, it plays beautifully too!

February 9, 2021 at 11:38 am #223278February 16, 2021 at 8:33 am #224483I have a color pallet for the ORIGINAL wd_12 rom in my altcolor folder with colorize rom selected in the original table so it looks in the altcolor/wd_12 folder and I have “Colorize ROM” selected in the F1 menu.
So having the actual color pal and vni files in the wd_12 folder in the altcolor those will work in the original WhoDunnit table, and because you don’t have a wd_12_bw folder – it will use what you assign for color.
Thanks, good instructions. I want to give this a try, but don’t know how to do that part above. How do I get pal and vni files for the original color palette?

this is for the French rom version.
- you will have many broken scenes if you use the English rom .
- its missing allot and I mean allot of scenes.
I got the stupid idea of adding all the English scenes. but the french project used all the 25 available
keyframe masks. meaning I could not create new ones for the missing scenes.
I was better of doing the project from the ground up.
I spent more time on this then what I wanted but its finally “done”
by done I mean all the work I’m going to do for now.
I have 1 major scene that is broken

but as you know
Tony Killed
Victoria Killed
Butler Killed
Bruno Killed
Trixie Killed
each person killed generates 4 + 4×3 + 12×2 = possible unique scenes.
some combinations repeat, I made a spread sheet and counted 64 possible combinations.

each possible scene has been captured but they need to be cut, keyframed and colored.
I’m a little burned out on the project , so I’m going to put it on hold and come back to it
here is a preview, can’t record in game play as this has been converted to a 64 color project.

February 20, 2021 at 10:03 am #225138Anyone else having major freezing issues and or the ball getting stuck when too much is happening. This causes my system to crash and a restart of the PC is required to get it back to normal.

If you are using Color DMD, Try without (Remove the Files)
Also re-download the game try using without changing any dimensions on the gameYou need to login in order to like this post: click here
February 20, 2021 at 11:05 am #225149@byrneaar, this runs smooth as can be for me so I didn’t do any kind of performance optimization. It uses three large flasher textures for the GI alone and a bunch more for other lighting effects so it is definitely not for the faint of system.
If you aren’t running a 4k system you could shrink all the large textures by half in Photoshop or Gimp and get some performance increase. Also turn off Screen space and reflections if you haven’t.
I have an update pending for this so wait for that before you start trying to optimize.
