Alright when this is all done and working, this is the first tutorial I write…so I decided to upgrade to windows 10 from Windows 7. So far upgrade went smooth except for the the back glass server, which was not allowing to move the back glass screen, which i figured out needed to run in Administrator mode. So I did that, also I added every folder associated with Visual pinball, PinballX, Direct output, PROC Etc. So I went and thought “this is not so bad”
So my sticking point is with regards to DOF, when i fired up my cab with the DOF turned on. (Everybody unplugs the DOF not to blow another channel or solenoid right??) I am getting some random light flashes, solenoids firing and everything just seems off. So I reinstalled Direct output R3, added DJRobs “fix” for overmodulated solenoids, also reinstalled the back glass server 1.3.0.2 just to make sure i did not miss anything.
I have allowed all block files with B2S server and Direct output, also allowed any .exe related to run as administrator.
Also I downloaded a new config file in case that was an issue. Only config i can see on cpu, although a search of the c drive lists it 5 times in the same place
Still the solenoids are firing, knocker is firing, fan is blipping on and off randomly
So i turn to you guys for ideas, on the plus side My pin2dmd colors run perfectly now with no crashes. I’m sure I’m missing something obvious so now it’s time to drink beer

February 19, 2017 at 2:33 am #48704Okay got it!!
Oddly it was the directoutput.dll which djrobx labelled the “fix of the fix” AKA DOF 12/06/16. As soon as i put the version that comes with DOF R3 Beta everything is fine. I will have to contact DJRobx to see what is going on with that
So now Windows 10 seems to run way faster on my cpu than Windows 7, and I get to use pin2dmd without issue on a virtual dmd? Why was I waiting so long? Of course I just jinxed myself again
As always thanks for the input

February 19, 2017 at 4:03 am #48706You put what file where you said ? So, basically latest dof3 beta, and then replace latest b2s’ directoutput.dll to directoutput folder ?
