WIP – 007 Goldeneye (Sega 1996)

      New wip from Team PP ;) ;) ;)

      At first, big thanks to Destruk for his authorization to build the VPX ‘s version from his vp8-9 version.

       

      It’s not an easy pinball (like the others ;) ) There are some challenges for me ;) To script magnets (never done) and others ;) ;) ;)

      So for the moment Neo is working on the Playfield and on the plastics ;) Chucky is collecting pictures for détails and some HD decals.

      A lot of things are cleaned on the script. i can discover a lot of improvements done on the old script !!! Never seen that for adjusting physic !! ;)

      I feel very small in front of all this inventiveness !! ;) ;) GG guys (Destruk, Pingod, Uncle Reamus…)

       

      So i will try to build a good version of Goldeneye on VPX ;) ;)

        Looking forward to it JPJ. Played the real machine last weekend and it is a great machine.

          Thank you so much for doing this! I mean i really thank you i tell you why.

          I will be totally honest i felt Sega is the VPX’s “Stepchild”

          Many amazing table still not created or abandoned in VPX.

          Apollo13

          Batman Forever

          Goldeneye

          Frankenstein

          Baywatch

          Godzilla

           

          etc etc.

          Really the feeling like Sega was(!) stepchild isn’t it? But there are 3-4 table at works now already, so you make me really happy with this news.

              I’m not 100%  sure you will be able to use a magnet  for the “eject or die”  kick back

              you might be better of using a kicker

              I wanted to make this table  but had no resources.

              I rebuilt  the script  with new non kicker   subroutines

              upper right ramp

              Tank ball drop

              according to the script  the  Satellite is not emulated

              so I rebuilt the Sat ramps and VP9 code.

               

              The major problem still exists (you might need some help from the devs)

              the Sega.vbs  file notes that you should use the  Sega2.vbs file for this table

              but when you script it

              change this

              LoadVPM “01200100”,”SEGA.VBS”,3.1

              to this

              LoadVPM “01200100”,”SEGA2.VBS”,3.1

               

              you get a missing Sega2.VBS error

              I don’t know what you need to change to fix this the

              01200100″  or   3.1

               

              if you wan to use what I have

              a VP9 table

              stripped to its basic components

              code rebuilt  with   Flipper code and Keyup-keydown  calls to support  Sega2.VBS

              *but it errors out with the missing Sega2.vbs error

               

              and  a VPX table

              a Helicopter 3D model

              ramp rebuild

              code rebuilt  with   FLipper code and Keyup-keydown  calls to support  Sega.VBS

                EDIT  :

                i tried in my script to put the sega2.vbs, and i deleted the “useSolenoid” command. It works… the speed of flipper is still in 2 or 3 ms… So i don’t know if it affects other things or not ? i’ll merge some script you did !! ;) Thanks again ;) ;) ;)

                 

                Who build the copter’s primitive ? to credit him too ?

                 

                EDIT 2 :

                Const UseSolenoids = 2 is already in the SEGA2.vbs, that’s why…

                      Some news about Goldeneye ;)

                      The magnet’s flips is scripted whith a magnet ;) and it works ;) Big Big thanks to chucky who was able to find me a complete documentation !!!!! It’s more easy to work on it now !!

                      Neo gave me very good plastics !! ;) We are looking for a good backwall image !!!

                      There are some switch ton configure as the real is, i have to work on the radar magnet… so it’s progressing ;)

                      For now i work only on the vpx part ;) I think the 3d part will come soon ;)

                                  Dark ? Ah. That is a very good sign. Still, I’m a bit worried about programming the satellite to be honest. I don’t know, I haven’t played any of the earlier version of this table before. Just had a go at the real machine earlier this month and it became clear to me that I’ve really missed out on a very fun machine. It has much more to offer than most people think. Programming the damn thing though, I would not have a clue how to begin. If you struggle with it. Maybe, just maybe we’re so lucky that @djrobx can take a look at it ?! He really is a genius when it comes to making primitives move smoothly.

                                    I got the Dish mech assembly pretty much done now, just finalizing.  I have done two versions of the dish, the standard white dish that comes with the table as well as a modded version that has more detail (based off an online mod you can buy).  I made the dish a separate object from the actual mech assembly so that one could have a plastic material while the other has metal.  In order to swap from one version to the other, only need to change texture maps on the model and materials (could be a script option).

                                    Here are two screen shots, one has the standard vpx env and one uses a version of the overhead-vpx hdr map.  This is to give an idea of the range of look from env map alone, I think with a carefully selected hdr map it could look really good when its moving around and reflecting env map.

                                          I reduced a little bit the back of the dish ;) and i’ll change the pivot point just to make it more easy to script in vpx with a real magnet ;) (i’ll try)
