So my first cabinet is approaching completion. Its not perfect but its very playable and very enjoyable. I did thoroughly enjoy building it but little things on it irk me and I want to start anew to really get everything right this time around.
Original Build:
—PC
i5 2600k oc’d 4.5
8gb DDR3
760 GTX
120gb SSD
—Cabinet
Custom Build
46/32/PinDMD14 220mm Fans
GPWiz for controls
Painted Black no artwork.
Custom Black Trim all around. No Chrome.
PinSound
This is my old setup. The new setup is completely different. I will have everything on it that this is missing as well as update some parts that on mine left me lagging behind slightly and bothered me overtime. Its cheaper to build new then replace everything I already had.
—NEW PC
i5 6600K
16gb DDR4
1060 GTX 6GB
240 SSD
I just built a pc for an individual with this same parts list and I was VERY impressed with it. I know it will run VP well. But if someone sees something I should consider changing. Please let me know
—NEW CABINET
-Blackwater Cab (This cab i got for free in a trade and since most of the trim is there it seems like a good candidate for the overhaul. My old machine was HUGE and not fun to move. This is a standard size cab and should be far easier for long term moving.
-Refinish all trim in black again. I really do hate chrome.
-PinDMD3 ( I had a PinDMD1 and missing out on alot of features was heartbreaking)
-Force Feedback (Right now I will probably go with ZebsBoards ez install kit as I don’t have alot of experience in this market but may change my mind)
-ZebsBoards plunger / controller / nudge for obvious reasons
-Monitors (28″ Backglass as it fits perfectly in between the cabinet as it sits plus I can get glass over it.) (40″ Commercial Monitor. I am considering either a Seiki SM40UNP or a Samsung DB40E) They will fit niciely in my cab with minimal routing it. As well as not having to decase my screens. I want to try and leave as is this time around. Hence the 28 and 40)
-Pinsound Again Most Likely.
I plan to not cut open the back of either the pincab or the backbox. I want to try and make this where everything is accessible from the front after removing glass. I picked up a nice Air Compressor and will prime and paint this entire cab that way. To include White inside and black everywhere else. That way i can see what I am doing.
The Blackwater cab has dual buttons so these are all getting replaced with new ones but staying leaf switches.
If anyone has any extra tips they would be appreciated. I have about $3500 set aside for this project. I know thats enough since I have done one once already.
Pics are of my first build. And the new. Feedback is appreciated.

October 16, 2016 at 7:58 pm #39109Blackwater was a shell but I do have the whole wiring harness Ford of someone needs it and I also have the fuse panel in a couple odds and ends pieces but for the most part it was a shell. The cabinet though is a hair too skinny and finding a 40 inch screen that fits even decased is borderline hard. I just need lockdown bar and legs. All other bits are there.

October 17, 2016 at 9:55 am #39132Progress:
I am still doing patch work. I went through a tub of epoxy. And a tub of wood filler on the small stuff. Tonight I’ll sand it down to a hopefully final look.
