Xmen Pup Pack backglass is not working

I have posted this in the x men pup pack support topic also but I don’t think there is much traffic there so I am re posting this here in the hopes that someone can help.

 

I am having a weird issue. When I launch the table the pup pack backglass shows initially but after the playfield appears it disappears and I see the desktop wallpaper. I have used the pup pack editor and tried every option for the backglass from show, to force on, force pop etc nothing seems to help.

All of the other pup packs work fine with the backglass.

Which version of VLC are you using? Something doesn’t work right with VLC 3, you’ll need the 2.2.8 version.

fyi, since v1.4 of PinUP, it has embedded vlc 2.2.8 so doesn’t matter what or any version of vlc you may have on pc.

as far as issue:  need to start here:  http://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=puppack_troubleshoot

need to see what puplog.txt is showing always for most packs.

also,  i’d guess if all your other PuPs work,  try another vpx table/version first as there are some that have vpinmame script ‘bugs’ that cause the b2s/pup to crash.

Ok I have tried and checked all of the troubleshooting steps. Still only this Pup Pack is giving me problems.

Additionally I opened popperdoctor and loaded the xmen pup pack and it exhibits the same behavior. The X-men backglass shows for about 2 seconds then disappears. When I click on show display for the backglass I get Display #2 shown in pink.

So I can uninstall the vlc from my computer and PinUp will still work, correct?

I had the same problem on a two-screen setup.  Did you make changes to the pack with PuP Pack Editor and have problems at that point?  I was able to fix it by making sure the pack had the BackGlass configured as ForcePop.  I have everything else turned off (your setup might be different).  You might also check to see what the default setting is for your BackGlass via Configure Displays/ Locations (in the PuP Pack Editor) and experiment with those settings.
