@scottacus and I are planning on attending the Tom Taylor Open House in Milwaukee on April 3. It would be fun to meet up with some other vpinball people there, for drinks afterward, or at Midwest Gaming Classic the following day.
Tom Taylor has an unbelievable pinball collection, heavily skewed toward EMs, including every Gottlieb wedgehead. Literally hundreds of games so it is a real treat to get to play them for an afternoon. It is like a low-key, heavily curated version of a large gaming convention but without as much BO and no lines to play games.
Tickets for the event are available here:

March 10, 2020 at 9:24 am #166650I should also add that this is not an officially sanctioned Vpinball.com event and the site owner may not endorse or carry liability for any incidents at this meetup, including but not exclusively calloused or bleeding flipper fingers and criminal levels of gorging on Wisconsin fish fry.

March 10, 2020 at 9:30 am #166653Thanks for posting bord. This has been on my list to attend this year. Now I just need to see if I can make it work!

March 10, 2020 at 9:34 am #166654If you have never been to Tom’s preshow charity event you don’t know what you are missing. The MGC is a great event but it is downtown, crowded and noisy. Tom’s event has a max of 100 tickets and he has hundreds of machines so there are no lines and you park right outside the entrance. Proceeds go to the Milwaukee Rescue shelter for the homeless.
He specializes in Gottlieb wedge heads but he has tables from the other manufacturers as well. There are a couple dozen SS tables in the front room if that is what you’re into.
He also has bowling games, baseball games and a collection of old spaceship tin toys. The walls are decorated with pinball artwork and the place has a very cool vibe to it.
Here is a video from a few years ago that I found on you tube.

March 15, 2020 at 8:26 am #167419Hey all, because of the COVID19 pandemic the MGC has been cancelled this year. I’m still waiting to hear from Tom about the charity event but I’m assuming that will be cancelled as well.

March 15, 2020 at 10:45 am #167431Very disappointing but with loved ones that would be considered high risk for this illness I certainly understand the precautions.
We’ll try this again in the future. Always a lot of fun.

March 15, 2020 at 10:51 am #167436Yeah the MGC would be a horrible idea. 10,000+ attendance over 2 days all in a couple of ballrooms, everyone touching metal and glass surfaces where CVOID-19 can survive for 48 hours everyone within 6 feet of a bunch of people…
It sucks but that is the reality of it.

Agree. All gatherings of over 100 have been banned here in Ohio. Still pretty bummed. Round trip flights from Cleveland were down to $100 and only an 1:15:00 flight! Plus I was going to bring my em’s score motor and guilt @scottacus into rebuilding it for me ;)
Praying for quick resolution to this all.You need to login in order to like this post: click here
