@thalamus Also, I really encourage you (and everyone) really burn those huge cabinets and go for a stubby. Ok well maybe instead of burning sell the current cabinet for the price of a VR helmet if someone still wants to buy it. The VR experience difference is about the same as jumping from old FP tables to these latest VPX creations. I’m not hyped anymore about the VR as I’ve had those things for quite many years and frankly don’t much care how people get side tracked in VP to create those “fancy” environments (that are not that fancy as the outdated engine really can’t offer that beautiful graphics without hacks). I rather just have the VR table in darkness (well I’m a Finn and prefer darkness anyway so YMMV).
It’s the sense of more realistic gameplay your brains provide you after it receives some depth feedback which allows you to perceive the ball movement a lot more closer like in real life machines. Do it :) . Yes it’s a bit buggy mess still but hey so is this whole open source VP anyway.
Sorry I don’t build vr tables. You can find them in there dedicated category:
I’m thinking of buying an Occulus headset purely to play VPX (and maybe the new Half life…) which VR headset do you use? and is there a good go to thread on here for VR/VR VPX discussion? thanks

….when I try to play the table in the editor I get the following error.. Machine st_161h (Star Trek Limited Edition (V1.61) Terminated before initialized check ROM path or ROM file.
Same here and also other ST:LE same ROM works fine. But try this John: I did turn of my cab and did a full reboot, after that it worked fine!
Hi, did y9u manage to solve our issue?;I am getting the same error to do with line 445?; ‘Collection SFX

Hi, I thought I’d give this table another go today and hadn’t played it in a while.
The table looksfantastic, however I noticed a couple of things playability wise :
Fish shot (on the left): the ball shoots back out really fast and is an instant drain unless you hit it with the left flipper quickly enough. On the real table, the ball is simply released ; it just drops to the left flipper.
Is there any way to fix this in VP?.
Also, I feel that compared to more recent tables released since then, the ball physics settings on this table don’t feel as realistic or weighty?.
I do appreciate all thr work which went in to the table, but just thought I’d provide some feed (am happy to change any settings myself with some guidance?).
Many thanks.

Hey Rich, thanks a lot for your help ; works great now :-).
Seems I was using slightly out of date files. I downloaded thelastest scripts (3.50 i think?) and just placed copies in the scripts, tables and VP main folder to cover all bases.
I racked up about 35M (not sure if that’s a good score ; I have no nudge buttons on my cab…).
The cowboys vs. aliens mode was great

Thanks for your help Rich ; I’m going to try this out and will report back.
Cheers ?

Hi Thanks Rich; I’m pretty sure that I did replace everything with the latest 10.1 scripts, however I will try again (not having any other problems with other tables to my knowledge).
Probably a silly question, but do the scripts just have to stay in thr Scripts folder? Or some have to be kept in the main visual pinball folder? (I ask, as unless I’m mistaken, I might also have some script files in my main folder?.

Guys, is it just me?, or compared to the vanilla CC, is it really hard to get the ball in to the cave?.
On the Vanilla table, I can hit the shot regularly, however with ‘comtinued it’s like there is something blocking the entrance to the cave ; I don’t think I’ve managed to get the ball in there once:-(
I have PROC installed and appears to be working fine (Cour dmd etc works fine and all the sound is working).
Cheers ?

By the way, compared to the 1.0 release of this table, the guns near thr flippers are kind of grey (rather than black) on 1.1? – Was the table uploaded with a different light slider setting or something?
Classic version has black guns, Continued has grey guns, my choice.
Ah that’s cool ; thanks for confirming. Great idea, as I have both versions set up on my cab.
<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Thanks for all your hard work on the table ; pretty amazing and really fun table.</span>

I have Windows 7 64 bit. Tried tutorial and it gets stuck on part 2. says can not find c:\P-ROC\scripts\pypinproc-install.bat. Not sure how to proceed
Hi, I’m also running Win7 64-bit. I followed the installer instructions and everything works fine (I’m running a 2 screen set up and juat needed to play with the numbers within the relevant config file to get the DMD position and that was it).
Is your VP installation on your C: drive where the proc installer saves everything? Also, I understand that the best thing to do is run VPX10.1.

Updated the table to hopefully fix the extra ball registry? At least it worked when I tried it. Let me know!
<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Thanks for the update Fren ; I find this table much more playable now. Also, imho the extra ball animation has to be one of the coolest of any table :-)</span>

Hi, I was gonna post back here ; yep ; you guys were right – it was something to do with the nudge ; disconnecting the nudge mechanism (which wasn’t working properly anyway) didn’t fix the issue, however I went in to the settings and put “nudge strength” as zero ; works great now – thanks so much for everyone’s help ; excellent table

hi all, I won’t keep asking if noone can help, however I thought I’d try once final time (I don’t want to be a nuisance….;-)).
Does anyone have any idea a to why on every VP10 build of MM, when I first hit the castle, the ball falls down in to the moat and just rolls around down there? – The physmod version runs fine; the ball drops down, but then I think rolls to thr left and then gets released back out on to the table.
Things I’ve now tried which haven’t worked :
Tried using VP10 and 10.
<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Using a different B2S</span>
Running VP10 as admin and also in winXp compatibility mode (I am running Windows 7 and have no problems with other VP10 tables)
Deleting the NVRAM file from the pinmame directory.
Changing different graphical settings.
All to no avail ; I’d really like to be able to play this table

Thanks Tom ; I’ll give this a try tonight.
I wonder if I’ll get the same problem with this as your last MM release? (ball just rolls around under the moat every time I hit the castle – still haven’t figured why that always happens:-( – so want to be able to play a VPX ver. of MM)

I’m also really excited about this one ; love playing the physmod version which is already great.
For me, it’s an easy to get in to table, where a game usually lasts a while (and that’s without nudging, as my cab doesn’t have any nudge buttons/sensor hooked up)

Hmmmm…… does anyone else have any idea as to why I might be experiencing this issue?

An update in case anyone else has this problem ; I’ve now tried all thr available VP10 versions of MM with VP10.1 and also the latest build of pinmame (the one with Sam spupport naturally); still the same problem:-( this is really frustrating – makes the table completely unplayable:-(.

Medieval Madness table was my first mod table ( MM redux second ) and are only test, I think there are many error on them but I will not work on it again. We will working on a complete new version of MM soon.
Hi Tom, thanks for the reply.
Whilst waiting for the complete VP10 remake, I’ll try the table(s) using 10.1 and see if that helps.
I thought I’d ask, as I haven’t seen anyone else mention this potential bug.
Cheers

Hi all, no matter what I try, whenever I hit any targets relating to the castle, the ball gets stuck in the moat area underneath the draw bridge – it rolls around bit but then doesn’t come back out on to the Playfield.
This happens to me on all of the VP10 MM versions I’ve tried (physmod version runs perfect).
I’m using the first official release of vp10,using the installer and all other VP10 tables work fine.
I’ve tried deleting the vram and also running B2S in standard mode, rather than exe mode, but no luck.
I’d really like to be able to play this version, as it looks really impressive and the physics seem great from what I’ve been able to play.
Thanks in advance

Not sure what I can do about the post, have you tried 85vetts PM5 version? Does it do the same thing? I wonder if it has to do with the SAM emulation being a little slow, since the drop should be immediate once you hit the loop trigger, if there’s any lag in the emulation, the drop won’t be immediate. Or I scripted the loop trigger wrong? Both very possible. Sparky shouldn’t drain you 70% of the time, in fact he almost never does… I guess sometimes the magnet can grab it too much and send it SDTM but even that’s rare. If it’s the magnet, you could adjust the magnet intensity in the script? If it’s just deflecting off the the sparky area oddly you could tweak the physics in the area but I can’t recommend a good starting point without seeing what is causing it. Is this a common problem for other people? Anyone else getting SDTM drains ?
Thanks for the reply Fren. If I recall correctly, I think the PM version also did the same, but I will check; recently I managed to hook up my better pc (i5 processor) and screen my cab, so have been enjoying everything VP10 has to offer.
Re; the centre drains, they happen when sometimes after hitting sparky, the ball is released by the magnet and goes to the right, hitting near thr captive ball/coffin target, then goes straight down the centre.
<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>I tried the version which a guy on this thread uploaded a while back (the guy changed the lighting – I prefer the lighting on your settings; looks amazing) – he must have tweaked thr physics, as I had less drains with that version.</span>
I could also tell the physics were different, as when the snake shoots the ball, the left flipper doesn’t flinch slightly when the ball hits (which I really like in your version – same with your Tron ; very cool although on that table I get left drains sometimes after the Finns arcade ball release)
