I was actually going to buy PM from my same buddy a few weeks ago as i mentioned in the WIP thread but ended up his wife likes it too much too let it go yet so i bought a really nice fish tales from him which is a game i’ve wanted for awhile anyway, however part of this deal is that i have 6 months to buy pinball magic from him before he even considers posting it for sale, this agreement also gives his wife time to play it for a few more weeks before i buy it, i go over there at least once or twice a week to play his pins with him anyway (his collection rivals yours randr, i only have 5 myself but i will have room for more once i get my new house next month woohooo!) and i am happy to take a few minutes to help out a guy like UW who has contributed sooo much to my daily cabinet lineup that i would feel like a total schmuck to not help out alittle given the opportunity to do so….
WHen i take this video you just need to see the DMD and the playfield in the same shot so that you can see what lights up on the playfield in relation to what boxxes are blinking on the lamp matrix??? Is there anything i else i need to get video of or any other tests you need? He has the original manual as well so if there is any diagrams or anything that would be of assistance in there just let me know sometime before thursday afternoon so i can get you guys everything you need. -nate

Fuck that show the only good thing about it is that it was popular enough for stern to make a fun game that fren and juggalo are making an awesome recreation of that is gonna blow vpx wide open, these guys have been working on this one for months and even if it hasnt been constant they definitely arent rushing even a teeny part of this one and that attention to detail will truly make this one shine bright like a diamond and now flupper doing his plastic magic on the ramps too!?!? this is some next level shit, fuck that garbage pooorly written show. i cant stand it, i watched it in rehab and on the streets and hated it both sober and loaded drooling on myself, if a show sucks when your crocked on pills and drunk then believe me nothing is gonna make it better. these statements are all scientific facts, im an alchoholic i dont have opinions.

fren this is looking amazing man! Definitely not lost interest, my phone notifies me of new posts to this thread, Im really happy to hear its getting close to getting finished, I really really like this game but there is NO WHERE to play it in spokane and i cant spend 8k on a game right now. Vpx is a better option for me than driving to seattle or portland to play these new titles so thanks to you i can enjoy metallica, tron, iron man etc etc and actually learn to play them (and countless others on PM5) so when i do go take pinball trips i at least already know how to play the newwer games.
I cant thank you and the other kick ass VP table authors enough for your work on these recreations that play sooo much alike their physical counterparts especially now with vpx physics being as good as they are VPX has been getting just as much play as my physical collection of games and i must say the virtual cab gets more and more play with every release. so to all of you on forefront pushing vp to become almost better than physical pinball i sincerely thank you from the pit of my pinball obsessed soul for doing what you do, you guys fucking rock!!p.s. your tables are too dark! (joking im sorry i couldnt help it!)

i think peoples “jokes” are often taken far more serious then what was intended as its like text message conversation where you cant see or hear the tone of voice or the body language behind the words and being that we all think we are clever as shit and type messages in a facetious nature and unfortunately there are so many dumnb ass motherfuckers on the internet trolling the shit out of people who provide us these awesome recreations for little or no thanks and definitely no monetary gain or fame or fortune that when they come across one of these sarcastic quips intended to make them laugh by mocking the 5 idiotic posts before it talking about the table is too dark that it ends up reading almost identical to the idiot troll posts and is interpeted as one more of the same…..Juggalo you do amazing work man dont let any of these assholes tell you otherwise and if you feel the need to put giant faygo bottles in place of flippers that its your work to do so with and they can fuck off if they dont like it, i for one would be really bummed to stop seeing new content from you and in that regard im sure many others feel the same way. -nate

This next wednesday (day after tomorrow) pinball magic is joining my small but very beloved collection, its going to sit next to whirlwind, sega harley D and mario andretti, ok im bragging alittle but im bragging with the intention of offering to help in any way i can so let me know, if you have graphic resources handled i’d be happy to playtest and help get the physics dialed when it gets to that point, looking forward to this one, glad to see your back at it again man!

Are you not using vpinmame and the original game code? I ask because you said alot about the modes and on recreating the ruleset…if your scripting it without rom emulation thats an impressive amount of work!!

solved: if anyone else is having any issues with x/ultradmd on windows 10 just use the universal VP installer that you can find under ”vpx official” on this site and it will register ultradmd and update your vpx to the current official build, thanks to hmueck for putting together this installer and thank you ben heck, freneticamnesic and shoopity for this great table!

I agree the day/night slider is an awesome addition to vp and i tinker with it constantly, it blows me away that people who are running the BETA of vpx and playing tables that are clearly labeled as unfinished beta releases would lack the common sense to utilize what is in my opinion the most bad ass new feature (along with camera/light mode) we have available to us especially for players as opposed to authors where as in vp9/pm5 players that didnt have any experience authoring were at the mercy of the authors personal taste when it came to brightness and camera views (for the most part shit got to lookin funny real quick changing cams in vp9), and on top of not having the sense to use this feature to bitch about it in a forum! In the time it took to get on vpf and complain they could have tried a slew of different lighting options, its not like its in a secret menu for devs alone, on the contrary its pretty well advertised, I know I’m preaching to the choir here guys but i saw that thread on vpf and it pissed me off too as I really do appreciate the work you guys are putting into all these vpx tables and i cant believe how far you guys are pushing vp even before an official release, this is really cool and sincerely i thank you guys, playing these tables and watching your WIP’s helps me unwind daily and offers me some stress relief, Its my ME time which is crucial to me not going insane and killing a bunch of puppies and old people. and anymore its often equally as fun as playing real life pinball, sometimes even more so being that I’m in spokane washington where there is really jack shit for public pinball and the machines that are around are mostly crap and i cant drive to seattle or portland everyday to play well maintained games altho i’d like to, anyway im cluttering the fuck outta your thread now i apologize, i just wanted to say thank you to any authors who happen to read this, sorry about beating the horse to death here.
