Great table. I did have a crash I was not able to reproduce: while a ball was locked on the top hole, I plunged another ones that collided with it. Table froze, and there was a line on the script highlighted (something about an fix sound not found?). I did not have the hindsight of taking a screenshot. I was able to play at least 3 games afterwards without issues, including the same ball2ball collision described above.

So, disabling Freezy, and enabling the VPM DMD seems to fix the initials issue. Having said that, the B2S DMD in 2 screen mode (purple letters) is very fitting… Problem is that, if I hide the VPM DMD the tables does not serve a ball. If I keep it shown, then it stays on top of table/B2S.
Is this something that should be resolved by VPM ? I’m ok not using my PINDMDv3 for this table, but I rather use the 2screen B2S with embedded DMD instead…
how are you guys running this table ?

Can you tell if 1.3 fixes the multiball issue?

Were 1.3 or 1.4 ever published? I just hit the multi all bug earlier today, so I figured I should check if there is a new version… If not, I’m hoping to use Thalamus’s scripts Collection to update 1.2…
cheers.

It looks like you are using DMD triggers. Given that this is not originally a DMD table, some folks may have disabled external DMD for this rom. You should probably specify that this is needed in the installation instructions.

Terry, can you break down the values for custom pos ? Some of us, who put the wheelbar on the Backglasss, where it should be,
need to adjust those… txsYou need to login in order to like this post: click here
Actually, ScreenDisplay is the least important in my opinion for that very reason. In fact, I’ll probably hide it altogether and rely on the wheel mages. Filename is the field that has the most impact on how files are stored, copied, duplicated, etc., so I want to make sure my workflow does not lead to lots of duplicated files that get left behind when renaming. Also, I want to have complete understanding on how to manage the files in the event I need to move things, delete/rename tables, etc. Having the front end automate tasks is great, as long as I know what it is doing

ok, so, just to make sure I understand: when you drag the new files (vpt/x, directb2s, pov, etc.) to the “Game filename” box in the manager, the files are copied from wherever (eg c:\Downloads) it is to the emu-games-folder and renamed as “Game filename” (so the DB entries never change). I then can save/delete the files from (c:\Downloads and the backups made by poper in \Tables\) No media is renamed. Essentially GameName, Game Filename, and Screen Name DB entries are not expected to change after the table is added the first time, right?
txs.

As a follow up, if media is (or should be) named after “game filename” what I’m doing should work well provided that you do not have other plans for the field, no?
I’m not sold on renaming all media files when updating a table, even if done automatically… I see it as unnecessary churn… I will also have the issue that every single media file will be backed up again (to multiple destinations in my case) as the filename s will change…

Well, then I’m in trouble
why do you need the field in the DB if you expect it to be filename minus ext ?
I need to try the workflow your way and see how it works, then rename all the media and the “Game filename” field. Doable, but not too happy about it :-|
so, when you drag the new, let’s say. VPX table version in game manager, popper will change both “filename” and “game filename” (making the latter equal to filename minus extension), then go into every media subfolders for the system and rename old-version.{mp4|gif|png|mp3} to new-version.{mp4|gif|png|mp3} , right ?
note that I do not want to use the media search field, so each table should have unique media files.

Hmm. It went through 10 tables and only did this on the ones without a directb2s file. Maybe that was actually left in the screen by popper and it just got recorded. Will run again. Txs.

Got it. Txs

For example:
Screen name = table (manuf year) —) no prob, I can set this up when adding the table
File name = table-some-version.vpx
—) no prob, that is the table name
Game filename = table-some-version —) this not editable. I’m editing this via sqlWhy?
Because some time in the future:
Screen name = table (manuf year) —) no prob
Filename = table-newer-version.vpx —) updated every time a table is updated
Game filename (that I would like )= table (manuf year) —) I don’t want this to change every time I update a table, so there is no need to rename media (even if done automatically)Makes sense?

pupdmdcontrol was old, from march. the new one makes the dmd work within pupmenu, and I’m able to start dmdext 1.7 (1.7.1 does not work consistently).

if i enable dof in pup menu, it works well in the front end, but when emulators start, dof starts firing randomly. the same curlaunc.bat works well from outside pupmenu. if i disable dof from global config, then dof works well when launched from pupmenu. seems to me that pupmenu is not releasing the hardware (similar problem with dmd). this happens with or without doflinx in memory.
Are you launching in Record mode by chance? Ive seen that happen in record mode…mainly when the file is encoding…
I’m pretty sure I’m not. I have not even explored recording yet… trying to get all the emus to work first.
