I did it!
After the third try, it was a sucessfull!
This time I tried to minimize the issues and then:
- Because I didn’t sure how was the moisture of the chip, I was baking the AEDR-8300 for 48 hours at 60 °C (140 °F).
- I used a little bit less of soldering paste than the last two tries and removed a bit excess of melting soldering m…

Hi everybody!
I’m also in the same step of my project: choosing monitor.
OK, guys: What do you think about these ultimate gaming monitors like ROG Strix XG438Q, PREDATOR CG7 or the last anunced ROG Strix XG43UQ?
Their specifications are amazing like their so expensive prices, of course. But, could be extra frames and high refresh rate a really…[Read more]

Hello zimbakin,
Thank you for your experienced tips.
I was following the totally greatest hit of all times impressive ‘Pinscape v2 Build Guide‘ like my holy bible and like the master mjr answered me in VPForums, now I can confirm that it was a short circuit between 5V and ground derivated from a bad welding: I inspected it with a cell phone…[Read more]

Hi zimbakin,
Very nice build and amazing video!! They inspired me to follow your steps.
Now I’m working on my own dream and also going via AEDR-8300 plunger sensor. But I’m in trouble with it.
But this is the second time I tried to build this item.
First I failed welding the AEDR-8300 because I used so much soldering paste and it broke. Now,…[Read more]

Thank you Thalamus,
I’ll try DjRobX setup. But, perhaps I’ll do some experiments with an aditional amp for the separate LFE channel for the subwoofer coming from the sound card output because now the lepy 838 is so cheap and the invest worth it.
I hope tell you soon the results and thanks again for your advice.
Regards!

Ok, thank you for your fast answer, but perhaps I’m not explain me so well. I’ll suggest to use flat exciters in all channels except the two from front (backbox) and another in the subwoofer.
Then, the change that I suggested is only to add a new amp for the subwoofer LFE channel of the 7.1 card output.
Do you think it will work like a 7.1 amp…[Read more]
