Elements Detail Level

What exactly does this do? I assume the farther right it is set the better detail you see? I have tried it with and without “overwrite global settings” checked but I can’t really tell a difference.

You lower to much and ramps stop working I think it’s polys on table elements? So things get less smooth lower you go. I think
