Midnight Magic Atari 2600 VPX Version
I started this to learn more the script side of things, that being said the script probably ended up a bit all over the place. I possibly could have done it way more efficiently but it works now so i am leaving it as is for now.
David Brittons original version from 2001 was what got me going. I tracked him down and got the OK to use whatever from his table which is where i got the sounds and the start of the script.
A tutorial table by Wizards_Hat and then modified by GTX as well helped me to get the high score and post it note sorted. And a tutorial table by theguyoverthere is what i used to get the score display working.
The table has 2 options at the top of the script one to change to a square ball like the original game and the other to enable or disable the bottom center post and lane kickbacks as the original had game 1 or 2. The square ball was done using the ball shadow code from Nunnizu.
I haven’t spent much time on the physics but it can always be improved. I have also added dof calls for a few things but you will have to write your own line in your config to get it working as the config is not in the DOF config tool.

August 2, 2017 at 9:52 pm #59751Great job Lizard!!
I remember playing this alot when I was a kid!!
I also played Video Pinball on the Atari 2600.
These were some of the very first “Video” Pinballs. Really has came a long way!!
I also liked Crue Ball for Sega Genesis. I was thinking about trying to recreate it. Use what STAT taught me with using script for changing of images in those NFL tables. But instead of new team color, this would be activated just like the game Crue Ball and a new playfield would appear for each level. although it would be hard to emulate the monsters that come out the sides. (Maybe after I learn alot more.)
Thanks again for this fantastic recreation!! (These physics are way better than the original!!)
Carry on.

Ha i was nearly finished the table before i thought i wonder how big it is, after seeing the size i nearly made the walls into primitives just to make it a bit bigger.
Thanks for the kind words everyone i enjoyed doing this one i learnt a bit along the way.
