I will be documenting my progress here. Not a native speaker mind me if im writing anything silly ;)
Bought a used Philips 42” PFL 3604/12 Full HD as main Display and started drawing the cabinet. Going for a wideboy with 630mm width.
First step is to use my deskop pc and see if everything works as expected. Then i will be getting an own mashine for the cabinet.
Can anyone tell me the sizes of an standard williams front door?

May 19, 2016 at 11:58 pm #22972I cut my hole 314mm wide x 262mm tall. Fit perfectly
I will include my sketchup file for my machine(As soon as i figure out how to do this…), hopefully it can be a bit of help. I used a 43″ TV for mine so this rendering will be too wide for a standard lock down bar. I recommend designing around a standard size of lock down bar, custom gets pricey
Good Luck

May 20, 2016 at 3:22 am #229963 more questions:
What size should the fan be? 120mm or more? Where would you place it? I was thinking about cutting it into the bottom plate of the Cabinet.
What are the sizes for the flipper button drills in the side panels? Is it 17mm?
What are the sizes for the main button drills in the front panel? Is it 35mm?

May 20, 2016 at 12:27 pm #23091Thanks for the Sketch! Your cabinet is 600mm wide, is it a standard size for the lockbar? Which sizes are common?

May 20, 2016 at 1:12 pm #23106No mine was not standard width, that was my mistake. There is a standard body and a wide body lockdown bar available. I would try pinball life to see what are the 2 standard sizes available are. If i was to start allover i would of had a lock down bar picked out ahead of time. Because of my mistake i ended up paying much more for a custom size from virtua pin. Hope this helps

May 23, 2016 at 1:49 am #23359How thick should the glas be? I was thinking of 6mm. Is it enough?

May 23, 2016 at 7:44 am #23378I believe standard pinball glass is 3/16″ which if I do my math right is just under 5mm so 6 should be good.
although if you are using standard pinball glass guides it may be too thick, if not no worries.

May 24, 2016 at 2:55 am #23442Sorry some more questions:
Currently im thinking about how i will put the glass onto the cabinet. I started cutting a groove into the top of the side panels, where i wanted to put the glass. Are there siderails out there, which are about 18-25mm wide on the top side, in order to cover the glass?
Which siderails would you advice me to use?

May 24, 2016 at 6:50 am #23454The plastic channel needs a “t-molding” slot to sit in. Is that what you mean by grooves?

May 24, 2016 at 6:59 am #23458You can do the glass differently i suppose but the channels are so cheap and are the correct way like real machine and then the rails sit nice ontop of the channels. You can do it anyway you want just showing the links to what i used
keep the updates coming!
